I still don't get it...they just let them walk in through the Chunnel? I went to Canada two weeks ago, came back and my car was torn apart and they checked my entire history (and I am a born citizen returning home), and they turned back some Canadians because one of them had an arrest for fighting 5 years ago, and that's the Canadian border. I'm sure the Mexican one is really intense.
Your guys just let them walk in?

The majority of 'illegal immigrants' in UK arrive absolutely legally - they become illegal when their visas run out and they stay without renewing.
Far more of our illegal immigrants are visa overstayers than those arriving in the back of lorries. |

They just get allowed in. It's very slack and easy to arrive in UK. All anyone has to do is arrive at dead of night on some remote cove or other and then let the illegals scramble ashore etc. Dead easy and for £2,000 a throw each it's a lucrative business. Course, I expect the local fuzz and politicians are taking their cut, so nothing will ever get done about it.
Meanwhile three illegals were found working in a UK.gov department not far rom Downing Street. Someone came around from Scotland Yard eventually and asked them to please leave the building.
See what I mean? Right at the very heart of UK.gov there are illegals being gainfully employed and paid for out of our money.
Even worse, a year or so back, there was a guy working at the immigration department in Croydon who was taking bribes to let people in.
Okay so he got found out and arrested.
But how many more of them are there out there? Backhanders etc. . . . |

You become an illegal immigrant when you've over stayed a visa for a long time, claimed asylum then stopped reporting/signing at the reporting centre or the police station and just went under the radar, working cash in hand and not using your real name. Or if you arrive in ships transferring goods in huge tanks, which is very dangerous and risky as there are often sad stories about pregnant women dying in locked up tanks or children drawning.. The uk has a rehabilitation system, that after a certain amount of time your conviction becomes ''spent'' and your criminal record becomes cleared out. For example, if you receieved a court order to pay a fine (say, car speeding, train ticket), you get a criminal record that becomes ''spent'' after 5 years. The US however treats all offences, minor or not, 5 days ago or 50 years ago the same, which isn't fair! |

Immigration controls seem very weak in the uK, despite government promises.
Many come over hidden in container lorries. Quite a few crawl under the channel trains and get out when the train slows down in England.
Others come by plane. They get on with a false passport which they hand to the 'courier' as they disembark. They then wander around the airport for a few hours before 'seeking asylum'. No one can discover which plane they arrived on.
Some just come in on false passports.
Once in the Eu the crossing is relatively easy. Getting into the EU is also fairly easy. The EU border is very porous and false passports are available for about £500.
An illegal immigrant can get in for about £3000 including fare I believe.
The US border controls are much tougher, but if someone wants in they'll get in. |
