How about this - illegal aliens, however law-breaking they might be, have no effect on my family greater or lesser than any other group in this country. People maliciously assigning these work-seeking PEOPLE (remember, you are no different then them) to be gang members, drug dealers, or violent criminals are doing so with no direct merit. There is no direct evidence that shows that illegal aliens make up the majority of those commiting violent crimes against us. To claim that all of these people are a destructive force in our nation is most certainly wrong. If we wish to decrease the crime in country, it shouldn't be by first switching all of our resources and energy to one of the least crime-causing forces in our country. Going after illegal immigrants would not only direct attention away from real criminals that attack our country every day, but it would also create an incrediblely unstable police state wherein the fundamental rights of people all over the nation would be violated. And also, remember the rights that the founding fathers wrote about in the constitiution weren't just for white people, they are inalienable for all men, of whom ALL are created equal.

And concening the loss in jobs: due to the basic economic principle of comparative advantage, those willing to work at jobs for less pay increases the output of that work because the decrease in wages allows for decreased supply costs. With this decrease in supply costs, the price of goods and services decreases and brings up the quantity. The increase in profits gives more the GDP overall. The loss of American jobs, in many cases leads to greater American profits, and ultimately a higher GDP.

My son rear-ended a carload of them.

They all said they were fine at the accident and couldn't wait to go home.

Three days later an attorney called and said ALL were hurt in the accident and sued me. Good thing I had 2X the minimum insurance.

My husband and a few other people were fired from their job becuase his boss was "hiring" illegals. We never turned him in because he ended up getting another job that same day. He had just gotten out of the military and could not find a good job, but we still had to make money, so he worked for a guy recycling plastic. After he got fired, he found a job working at a cemetery digging graves (seriously). It was a job that brought us money, but work was really hard to find. He has a bachelors degree too and is a very smart person (currently working on an MBA). I dont have a problem with foreigners doing jobs, as long as they are here LEGALLY doing the job. Its the illegals that are not paid legally and therefore are paid less than minimum wage - thats what takes jobs from americans. I have found that mexican immigrants (if this is what you are referring too) work very hard - too hard for what they are paid. But my husband is a very hard worker and would not have lost his job if Illegal workers were enforced better.

Personally, I was unable to get a kitchen manager job because I'm not fluent in Spanish and the restaurant employed many Latino immigrants. So, I called INS on them and they got busted.
Also, more and more school systems are no longer offering French as a second language and are pushing Spanish instead. I want my kids to speak French because that is what our relatives all speak and what I speak. I'm teaching them French myself, but they keep getting confused and switching to Spanish because of this societal reinforcement (Dora the Explorer, Sesame Street all teach Spanish!)
Also, personally my health care costs and taxes are too high because illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes or have health insurance are draining our social service and medical funds.
If you think it doesn't affect you - try this. Instead of paying your taxes each paycheck, wait until tax time and write a big check to Uncle Sam. Then maybe you'll see how much money you actually pay the government. Then - do a little investigating as to where your state and federal government taxes are going. Are you getting back services equivalent to the money you pay in? Absolutely not! Where is that difference going? To feed, school and medically treat illegal and their children.

We just came from a small town in NC. The majority of the hispanic population living there is illegal. My kids ended up in school w/ them. If you are not Spanish speaking this school does not give a damn about you. All the extra money goes into ESL and translators. Time wasted in class trying to get the kids to understand(since mommy and daddy are no help at home because they refuse to learn English). Not to mention it's my tax dollars that are supporting them.

Not all kids go to school for free, some choose to pay tuition, so that their kids are not in lousy public schools.

Illegal immigration directly affects all of us. We pay for the benefits of people who don't even care enough about the country to become a part of it. My husband is going through the immigration process, the legal way. It is long, arduous, and expensive. It is a complete pain the as*, he hasn't been able to work in the US for a year, it is an economic hardship. But it is the legal way, and to watch millions just coming in, completely disrespectful, and working to support their families is just so very irritating.
If you want to experience the opportunity of America, then give back to that same society. Acclomate, become a part of it. It has nothing to do with my hatred of anyone, but everything with a lack of respect for our rules.

Increases in crime and infectious diseases.

Depressing wages.

An atmosphere of lawlessness and disrespect for the US and its institutions and culture - disrespect of ME and my family.

Breakdown in communication because people won't learn English.

Increased civil strife (remember the masses of illegal foreigners in the streets? All that was missing to make it an invasion EVERYONE could recognize was the guns and tanks.)

All in all, it affects my life much more than, say, slavery affected my ancestors before the Civil War. But I would be against that too, no matter what the immediate effects on me.

It doesn't really effect me too much but it huts service industries when there is a communication barrier because the worker cannot speak English. I don't have a problem with people coming here and making a honest living. What bothers me is that illegals don't pay taxes and take the low paying jobs away from taxpayers (If I had to I would do those jobs but the problem is that companies can pay illegals less money than what I would do it for) I really don't think it has to do with hate it has to do with breaking the law and not paying the consquences. It also has to do with the burden of taxpayers when illegal immigrants don't pay taxes.

The damage done by illegals is well documented. Our country did not become successful by waiting until something bad affects us personally. Is it a good idea to wait until a burglar enters your house before fixing that broken door? In America we have a broken door that is almost 2000 miles wide. The time to close it is long past.

It's hard to find someone at a grocery store or fast food restaurant that understands English. I have done the jobs they are doing, when I was in high school and college. Most people cannot afford to take those jobs because their bills haven't changed! It really is that simple. Take away the bills and high cost of living legally then lots of people would take those jobs. Are you kidding me?

I've been in vehicles that have been in accidents with illegals. They don't have insurance and don't have the same attitude as a lot of Americans. One took off and the other was belligerent. There has been a lot of accidents because of illegals and their ignorant attitudes. They don't come from countries that are as "sophisticated" as the U.S.

I do feel for them as a group. I hold businesses totally responsible. One of my friends from high school lost his job because his irresponsible owner was able to hire 2 illegals and pay them under the table. (he got 2 for 1)

Both my brother's were installing cabinets for about $20.00 per hr. Eventually they were weeded out so that the illegal Mexicans could take over for about $8-10.00 per hr.

Illegal immigrants enter this country illegally, and run down our standard of living. They bring diseases and crime in their wake. They cost the average household way more then they save, they are a burden on our socitey.

With the increase cost of taking care of illegal immigrants, added with the declining wages it has forced most households to require both parents to work full time, this leaves a negitive effect on our children. I don't think I need to explain or stress the benifits of a parent taking care of the children full time.

Illegals are taking advantage of the different things that our tax dollars pay for. We are paying taxes for various types of insurance that they are using but they are not paying into. They drive on our roads that we are taxed for that they dont pay for. They steal our identities so they can get benefits that are only allowed to citizens. They are working and taking jobs that are leaving Americans without jobs. They are driving around without drivers licenses and insurance and putting us all in danger on the roads. The biggest thing is that they dont pay taxes but benefit from the taxes that we pay.. thats not fair. Its not fair for us to pay taxes out the butt for people who shouldnt even be in this country to take advantage of them. it has nothing to do with hate.. if they would become citizens there wouldnt be a problem. theres a reason they are called 'ILLEGAL'

Try to imagine such case as if all the illegle immigrant disappreared overnight what giant shock or shake it will cause the US economy and people's life.

Many illegals come to work in the US and send money to their family's, and they do not affect me personally, but there are many illegals that are not in the US to work, they are here to run drugs, commit crimes, use health care and social services, at a tremendous cost to the taxpayer. These are the illegals that are making things tough on the working illegals. And now our US politicians are pandering to all illegals, to give them the same benefits and rights as legal citizens, and this is a slap in the face to all the naturalized and legal citizens of this country. So now the working illegals will have to suffer the consequences derived from the criminal illegals.
Also if you are a working illegal in the USA, and have been doing so for many years, and have not even tried to get your citizenship then you deserve to be deported.

We all pay more for EVERY item that we must have that is in limited supply. Things like gasoline, electricity, natural gas, fresh water, land etc all cost more due to the increased demand that an additional 12-20 MILLION people put on limited supplies.

Just think about how many "things" a city of 12-20 million people needs to survive and you can comprehend the problem.

Also we all pay more in taxes because they don't pay much in taxes (or if they do they get more back then they pay in because of the low-income status and high rate of reproduction - think earned income and child deductions).

It costs OVER $10,000 per student per year for the approximately 2 million illegal children here. Simple math shows that cost alone at about $20,000,000,000 per year!!!!! So by not caring you are taking that 20 BILLION dollars a year from real AMERICAN students.

If you add in the several million anchor babies and that number shoots up to over 50 BILLION A YEAR!!!!

The total estimated taxes (as the open borders people always talk about) paid by illegals do not even pay that expenditure.

Safety - I have several friends in law enforcement and they regularly pull illegal aliens over for DUI though since they aren't allowed to check their immigration status or question if their name is really John Smith or whoever's identity they stole these people go infront of the judge in the morning, which is too fast to check the other violations so the police don't even bother, and are released. They go home and get another Driver's License with a different name and address and they can do this again. This is dangerous for everyone. If an illegal immigrant commits a crime that there is any possibility of receiving the death penalty all they have to do is go back to Mexico and Mexico will not extradite them to the US to stand trial.
Automobile accidents - Illegals don't have insurance so you are screwed if you are in a car accident with them. My friend is severly injured for the rest of his life because a drunk illegal hit him, totalled his car, got released with a court date and either left the country or just stole someone else's identitiy.
Income - Illegal aliens usually work for cash and therefore don't pay taxes so when they receive $20 per hour for labor they actually receive $20. A legal citizen would get a gross of $20 then social security taxes about 13% (1/2 from you and 1/2 from your employer which stops them from paying you more even though you don't know it's a cost of theirs), FICA and the onther one taking a few percent, unemployment insurance which varies based on your companies industry and history so lets say 3%, then taxes at lets just say 30% and what was supposedly $20 per hour ends up being about half of this. If the employer wants to fire you they are at risk of you sueing them for any reason you want, collecting unemployment, going to the labor board, claiming any form of racism or discrimination and the state will sue them costing them a lot of money even if it isn't legit though they fire an illegal they just tell them don't come back and they're done. The cash they pay the illegal is usually written off as product gone bad or something else so they're getting a tax write off for their labor expenses instead of going through the hassle of payroll. Even if an illegal goes through the process of stealing someone else's identitiy they'll work for less money than a citizen and therefore keep wages down.
Expenses
Health care - Besides what is claimed by the Democrat party and the media if you go to an emergency room you get free health care. Illegals go to the emergency room for colds or whatever they want and since they don't pay and can't be tracked everyone else pays higher taxes and higher health care costs to pay for them.
Education - Illegals attend schools for free and usually get free lunches, breakfasts and other services as well. Just the eduation in high school around us varies by community though the cheapest one I know of near us is over $6,000 per year per student and some are over $20,000 per year per student. Where I am this money is paid for with property taxes though I know this varies by state.

Illegals are bad for America. America is supposed to be a melting pot for people that want to legally immigrate to our country. When we have so many illegals that lowers the amount of legal immigrants we can take. This is wrong. We shouldn't be taking the people that don't have any respect for our laws instead of those that want to come to America and be a part of society.

Lots of people would be happy to do the jobs illegals are doing. When they made that huge illegal alien bust in the Carolinas and over 50% of the workers were found to be illegal within 2 weeks every job had been filled with legal workers. American's are happy to do the jobs illegals are currently doing and even if you make the argument that American's aren't willing to do the job all that would happen is the employer would raise the pay for the job until Citizens agree to take that employment.

This isn't a hate thing at all. Our country is composed of immigrants and wants immigrants though the immigrants we want are those that come here because they want to become part of American society, follow our laws, become citizens and make a better life for themselves, their family and therefore our country. We don't want people that don't respect our laws. I welcome all immigrants equally and think all people that break the law should be punished for it appropriately.

Our home was broken into several years ago. Our little dog was stomped to death and our 17-year-old daughter hid in a closet and sobbed while she called 911. The perpetrators? A mexican immigrant and his 2 cousins who were here illegally. So yes, I have a little bit of hatred towards them. My daughter still has nightmares.

And studies have shown that the jobs they take are jobs taken from teenagers and college students as well as the elderly. Yes, I would do those jobs if I needed money.

I have no problem with immigrants, but I sure as hell have a problem with illegals.

On the other hand, of you have been in this forum before, you should have seen many links that could take to to information that is the basis for the demand that the law be followed, and that an arbitrary amnesty is not permitted without the approval of the American People. And that IS as it should be.

When i decided to move to the United States I made sure I followed all the correct steps. I was a long process and at times frustrating, but I did it.

When I moved to the United States I gained a job in construction making a decent wage that was enough to support my family and myself. After 8 years I was let go from the company. My manager at the time told me outright that he was lettiing me go because he could hire 4 illegal immigrants for what it cost to employ me.

A few years ago my wife's purse was stolen. The person used her social security number to get work. When they were arrested it was discovered that they were an illegal alien. It was also discovered that she shared the number with other people. To this day her number is still be used by people to gain employement, utilites and phone service, even car loans.

I came to this country legally. I pay my taxes and work hard. I had to do more than just walk across a border crossing or hide in van and drive a few miles. I worked hard at learning English and assimlating into the American culture. People who come here illegally and expect to be treated as legal citizens with all the same benefits make me more than a little upset.

Illegals generally make me sick. It should not be a crime to shoot them when you see them. I mean if a coyote comes onto my land and makes a nusence of itself I can shoot it. They have taken my money as long as I have been paying taxes. That takes from the poor here in this country LEGALLY. I expect to pay taxes, it's the American way (which they don't usually participate in) but I don't expect to have it go to a non US ctizen. If they want to make it TRULY better, tey should set a n example to their families and do it the LEGAL way. I own a dog kennel as well as a CPA firm. I scoop poop without complianing. I mow my own 5 acre front yard and weed my own garden in which pick my supplemental veggies. So, yeah I would, and so would some out of work American. I don't HATE anyone (osama comes close) There is a dislike for Illegals, not immigrants.

This did not happen to my family, but to a friend of mine.

Her 17 year-old son was riding in a car with a friend from school. Her son did not know that the friend's family were illegal aliens and that they had been living in the United States for more than ten years illegally.

The illegal alien had an accident which killed her son, only a month before Christmas, and his eighteenth birthday would have been only a few short days after Christmas.
Having a son of my own who was born only a few days after Christmas, I can imagine the devastation and deep sorrow that this illegal alien brought to this family's Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday.
After the accident, their entire family was devastated to find out that the illegal alien had no driver's license, had no insurance, and their insurance company refused to pay for expenses relating to their son's death.

As she told me this, even though she was only an acquaintance, I was literally brought to tears thinking about how I would feel if it was my son. Such a devastating and tragic, and politically unnecessary event wracking this family over what should have been a joyous holiday.

If you still think that illegal aliens have no affect on American families, I pity you!

Schools, hospitals, huger population in the poorest demographic most dependant on taxpayer funded services at the time our baby boomer generation is set to retire and need those services...

It costs $10,000 per child per year to educate a child k-12, as one example. Look at what has happened to the once envied LAUSD schools in the last 30 years, in terms of quality of education for our own children, and priorities of funding.

i live in AZ. Ive been rear ended by four different vehicles each case the person driving was drunk and illegal or just illegal not one of those had insurance but they drove ,two had license, but had gone back to Mexico before they could be prosecuted! girls have been raped 10-14yr olds some with the parent outside the home.cops killed 3 in a month and half. but yes they are hard workers . they work for framing co. starts one illegal he works very hard foreman is impressed illegal says i have friends they start a crew at a low rate of pay then when they have enough people in they start to demand co. pay more,co. cant afford to lose them so they get what they want ! you look at illegals as poor, hungry ,law biding people but their smarter than you give them credit for they stand at corners waiting for people to come and offer them work ,cheap labor supposedly their rate is 10 an hour figure they don't pay taxes, communal living 10 to15 guys in one house expenses shared they make out really good>
