It is racist only as a debate definition. The immigration issue has taken a page out of the African-American strategy playbook to quell argument. The weakest argument, philosophically, is "have mercy", or "oh, have pity on me".
To point the finger at the other faction you change your argument to "you are a racist". |

The concern with the cultural, economic, environmental, and security impact of the influx of immigrants does not necessarily arise from racist, xenophobic, or supremacist beliefs.
It is the result of American citizens own experiences with the efforts of a large and expanding immigrant population in their communities.
The fact is immigration is the significant factor in U.S. population growth and over use of the countries social and health and education programs by illegal aliens.
Security, economy, and party interest are well and good, but the fundamental issue in immigration debate is who we are and what sort of nation we want to be. |

It's not racist. The pro-illegals who scream racism have lost the argument.
The other side talks about obeying immigration laws, health issues and the sovereignty of the U.S.
The pro-illegals would have to argue AGAINST obeying laws, shrug their shoulders at diseases being brought into the U.S. and then dismiss the idea that the U.S. doesn't have a right to protect its citizens.
So therefore, they scream racism because otherwise they'd look like anti-American dimwits. |

Its not racist to want all illegal aliens to be stopped from coming here or to be forced to leave.Its the race card that the liberals and pro illegal supporters use when they don't have a valid argument for their cause.There are a lot of racists that have jumped on both bandwagons and are using this forum to incite and inflame both sides of the issue.I am not a racists but it doesn't bother me when people say that because to me it only means they have run out of good reasons for their side/either side and have resorted to the tired old worn out race card.I am a stanch anti illegal alien,but I define my stand as being more pro-legal American than anything else. |

The same people who claim it is racist to want all illegals to go back to their home country are the ones who would wave a Mexican flag for their cause. This is America, last I checked, and our flag is red, white and blue. The racism expressed by flying another countries flag here is what needs to be addressed by illegal alien supporters. The first word an illegal alien should learn is "Illegal". It means they have committed a crime and they should be punished. Unfortunately, our govt. has ignored the laws in favor of the cheap labor these illegals provide big corporations which profit enormously while giving little back to our own citizens. Illiminating illegal aliens would actually force these companies to pay a living wage and stop discriminating by choosing people who speak Spanish instead of those who were born in an English speaking country. It is not racist to want illegals to go home. It's patriotic! Anyone unwilling to apply for citizenship and wait their turn to come here like the rest of the world should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care if the illegal immigrant is Mexican, Polish or Irish. I agree with you that the word "Illegal" is not a race, it's a fact. Keep speaking out on this issue as I do and hopefully we can get this country to wake up and distinguish the difference. |

It became "Racist" because that plays into the hands of those who OPPOSE any restrictions on immigration.
Makes it simple to rally thousands of Latins in the street... play on the sympathies of the more liberal... and avoid a law that ENFORCES the laws already on the books !!

Thank you. It is tiresome to hear these ignorant people call us racist for wanting our country safe. Why don't we label just as much? For instance, we are not racist, we are "tough on crime". The illegal supporters are not pro-amnesty, they are "anti-American" or "pro-crime". Lynda, it matters not if we were welcome originally. We came and the Indians tried to stop us from spreading. They failed. No the illegals are coming and it is our chance to repel them. The only law of nature is survival. To preserve one's self is the first instinct. It takes precedence over everything else. To preserve ourselves, we need to get rid of the illegals. Annie, you are correct. I have not, however, made any distinction of race when referring to illegals. I refer to them only as criminals and illegals. |
