I thought you English speaking builders had a problem with Poles? And as a British born Turkish Cypriot I would like to add that:

1) My grandfather gained British citizenship through fighting for the BRITISH during the war

2) My family are a positive asset to the country in the sense that my father owns his own business and not one of us has ponced off the government

So before you try to get all high and mighty with your 'oh help, we're being invaded by immigrants'! Think about the ones who work hard, pay their taxes and are generally law abiding citizens

Apparently the Poles are going home now. They can earn just as much and have a cheaper cost of living. The main flood of Turks (if there is one, EU membership is unlikely at the moment) would probably be to Germany where there is quite a large Turkish population already.

Why not? We've already been invaded by practically every other nation on Earth.

On the UK news this morning - Police are looking for a missing 9 year old boy who can only speak Punjabi. No mention of what he's doing here unable to speak any English. No doubt he will be expecting a British school to devote scarce resources to teach him English.

Just received may wage slip from the agency that I work for, YET again paid short, if this Cr@p government paid more attention to what is happening to ordinary people as regards to work instead of pandering to the EU or anyone else outside the UK, then more people who are on the dole may try and look for a job, because the way things are going no-matter what I do or how hard I work I am repeatedly conned.
Whats the point of me going to work for 5 days only to be paid for 3 or 4 days, makes me wonder who is right me for working and doing the right thing, or to say sod-it and stop at home and claim all that I can.
Really does P1$$ ME OFF and makes me QUESTION who is this government really for, because from where I'm at, its not for the British.

They may not be Turks although they speak Turkish. Many Kurds from Turkey are here because they can claim asylum-seeker status based on the claim that they are being persecuted by the Turkish govt. This is often false, but it works. Similarly, anyone from a communist (or ex- such as Russia) country can easily get in because the UK govt still believes that under communism, people are being oppressed and robbed of human rights which they deem are more important than being able to live peaceably with a livelihood in their home country.

I'm sure south france is feeling the same way "i'm fed up of being the only french speaking person in southern france...."

but yeah, i mean, immigration to this country needs to be sorted out. No-one is proposing to do very much about it, and nothing that would actually make a difference. I think that we really need to just get rid of the EU, it's not doing any of us any favours: infact it's basically allowing every person in the entire of Europe just come here to sponge off our NHS and benefits. Ok, i know most people come here to work, but even the minority that don't pay tax and don't work are still draining millions of pounds out of hte system. I'd rather my money went on making schools or hospitals better, or sorting out the problems we have within society like the shootings and stuff, not on some immigrant from eastern europe who can't be bothered to get a job because we'll give them a free ride...

it's rediculous, but now we're all leaving, i'm sure it'll only get worse: you'll come back in 40 years to find it's no-longer great britain, we no longer speak english ,and we're still a part of the rediculous organisation that is the EU. I might join you on the plane out....

It all depends on whether they get into the EU or not, but I`m wondering where they`re all going to live, and how they`re going to cope with the shock of the cost of living? We havn`t got enough housing now and just because they`re Muslims it by no means means that they`re going to get on with the already large number of Muslims living here. They won`t, it`ll probably mean another segregation in our society. Where I live we`ve already had trouble between asylum seeking Kurds and the Pakistani population. We also have Poles living in tents in a shanty town by the river, because they can`t find continuous employment.

They've already invaded The (Internationally-recognised) Republic of Cyprus, back during the Summer of '74, and, are...... still there! Who's going to move them? Turkey, shall become a Member of the European Community (same as the sun rises from the East and sets in the West) in the not too distant future. Once this happens, then, Green Lanes Haringey, shall be 'expanded' in all directions, to the chagrin of some (or, perhaps, a large number) of this great Country's indigenous citizens.
