How long do l have to wait for my EEA2 application?

I am a Zimbabwean married to an Irish man. We live in the UK l submitted my application in December. l got my certificate first week January. l want to know from anyone who has gone through this how long they waited for their Resident Card/Permit. We did get back my husbands passport as he needed to travel but with me l cannot travel as l do not have travel documents. Talking of now my mother died and was buried back home without me being present, which was a shame really. Please can anyone give me a guide line. l will appreciate it.

Ring the Home Office & speak to them, see what can be done and what the implications are if you need to have your passport returned to you.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'certificate'

they are currently processing applications from February LAST YEAR (see link - bottom of page)

these sorts of applications are supposed to be processed within 6 months. Get your MP to write to them and hurry them up. If you need to travel urgently you can get your documents back but you will have to apply for a visa again and time will start from the beginning and this will delay your getting ILR as it is dependent on having a family/residency visa for five years.
