You do not have to work while you are living in the United Kingdom. If you do not work you must be able to support yourself and your family in the United Kingdom without becoming an unreasonable burden on public funds.
But you may be covered by the "European Community rules on social security", generally contained in EC Regulation 1408/71 (EC Regs), whilst in an EEA country or by the social security agreement which the UK may have with another country.

I believe you will be entitled to claim conribution based JSA after working for two 'RTY's or relevant tax years.
EU accession nationals Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland can work legally in the UK and contribute to our economy, however tough rules still prevent them accessing benefits - they have to work here for two years and possibly longer before a claim for Jobseekers can be considered.
Bulgarian and Romanian nationals have even stricter rules:
