Ok my boyfriend is from Denmark and he is coming to the US using his passport. So that gives him 90 days here. After his 90 days how long does he have to wait before he can reenter the US.

Well, most folks don't have the luxury of taking multilple extended vacations in foreign countries. If he came back after a day, the airport inspector could easily choose not to let him in at all. lots of people try to play games like this, and lots of them end up losing their VWP privileges permanently, too. The sooner he comes back, the more questions he'll get. there really isn't any set limit on how often a person can come back or how long he has to wait to return, but at the very least if he stays 90 days, he should probably wait several months to come back and do it all again. |

Just one day like others said above me... The immigration officers at the port of entry may question about quick re-entry. He has authority to limit the stay( less then 3 months) if he finds the answer is not approriate. |

As long as he makes sure to exit before his visa expires, then he can come back a year after or a little before the year is up.
The reason why the port of entry personnel frown upon multiple entries within the year from when he entered is because, as an immigration lawyer once told me, even the wealthiest tourist from their country of origin have to stay home to make money. Interesting, ha? |

he will have to go back to denmark and stay at least one full day. but thats geting pretty expensive. apply for a visa. |

There's no set limit.
However if they suspect that he's using the VWP as a means to bypass the immigration laws (i.e. that he's 'living' in the US), he will be denied entry and will no longer be eligible to use the VWP.
Long stays within the US and short stays outside will raise that suspicion. |
