i love my mom and i really don't want to leave my home here.
How much (average) does it cost to pay a very competent lawyer and if we do that will we win because of her 4 children?
And my last question is, how long will it be until they actually call or get my mom to be deported or (even worse) maybe even go to jaiL?
my mom has never, ever done a criminal act except this one. I know it is illegal to use somes identity, but she never stole money from him/her. And i know, the law is the law, but please help

I'm sorry about your mom's situation.
When I had an inmigration lawyer help me out with my paperwork, I paid about $180 an hour. (I only had her help me with reviewing my papers and correcting them, and that lasted 30 min, so I paid half price) I'm sure it varies depending on a case - like if you need to go to court.
Have you considered moving? If she stops using the SSN then they won't be able to track her (I would think!) so you guys can wait for another law that forgives all illegal inmigrants. Sorry, this might be an 'illegal' answer, but I really feel bad for a family that could be split up. :-(

Me again.. Your mom's situation is very complex and can cost from somewhere $5,000 and up.. They only deport someone, after they send them a deportation notice, or somehow run into them and they cannot prove their status. So, retain a lawyer ASAP and they will let her know what to do. |
