I had submitted my application vide File no R001477 key no 8200147709 on 19th March 2009 & even after one month of submission the status shows "POLICE REPORT PENDING"

Please wait, they say 45 days but mine took nearly 2 months. So, don't spend any money on doing something unnecessary. Sooner or later policemen will come to your place for verification after which they ask for some money which they say as their "fees" (very funny) and then after a few days you'll receive your passport via post. Hope this helps. :) |

Hi... wait for 30-45 days. Normally police enquirer comes in after 6 weeks. Incase there are elections happening in your area, it may even take more time.
Incase no police enquiry takes place, contact PRO officer in passport office. In case of any problem, you may probably be asked to submit new form with copy of your reciept which contains your file number. |
