I think it is bogus, too. Another example of HISPANdering at work. |

Isn't Puerto Rico part of the United States? Don't they speak Spanish there? Or should we forcibly make all Puerto Ricans speak English only, the way the English did in Ireland, Scotland and Wales? |
|

Pedantic Scorpion

So, by rights, there should be a Welsh flag, a Scottish one and even a Cornish one! |

go ahead and cancel your yahoo accounts cause that flag is probably here to stay. there are countless cubans and puerto ricans in this country which are all rightfull citizens of the USA. i don't see anything wrong with the fact yahoo has their services availible for spanish-speaking americans. there are more countries that speak spanish than english so by common logic it would make sense to have a page translated in spanish to seek a broader audience. |

Damn! That's a great catch. I never noticed it.
I think I'll get an answer from them too. |

For Latin-American's perhaps?
I don't understand what the problem is if I'm being honest. I mean, I'm from England and quite often you see English (US), or American flags saying English next to them; you don't see me complaining...
If I did infact read your question correctly, then you have a very arrogant atitude. |

Yahoo is a business. They are trying to make money. They can make money however they can. Like it or not, there are several people living in the US that don't speak English. Whether of not you or I like it, the situation is as it is, and, yahoo has a right to profit however they see fit. |
|

|
oh my gosh... what is so wrong with there being spanish speaking people in America....That's crap that people feel certain languages can only be spoken in certain countries. I think it's fine as long as people know how to speak english too and not feel like they shouldn't have to learn it. Who are we to try and take control of everything. |
|

Mr. Morden
|
Why do you care? There are people in the US, most of them legal, who speak Spanish. Yahoo is a business. They have the right to reach out to their customers in a variety of ways and languages. |

Geez...all it means is that you have a Spanish speaking version in the US. I never really noticed it but I think there are better things to spend your time on then bashing yahoo for using less space by using flags instead of typing things out. The United States was founded on the fact that we are a melting pot of people...all with different backgrounds and ethnicities. Spanish is a second language in the US. Why can't we just accept it, embrace it in fact, and move on? |

I have noticed that, but you can yammer at Yahoo until you are blue in the face. it won't change |

So to everyone who loves their bi-lingual heritage your saying not a fat chance huh? I doubt that you are a true FULL BLOODED american so you need to get off your high horse lady |

So, press the English one! Yahoo is going to be so sad to see you go...
After Mexico, the largest Spanish speaking population in the world resides in....????
You guessed it! The US |

The flag does not have a language. There is not one single word on it. I have never noticed the two flags before because it doesn't bother me that yahoo makes its' services available in Spanish. I don't understand your dislpleasure over it. |
|

Yes, I've seen it. Don't forget that there are some bi-lingual Americans... Puerto Ricans, for example... As long as I don't have to "click twice for English", it doesn't bother me. |

Pfo

Yeah, stop yer whining just because the Yahoo content is provided in Spanish too. I'm afraid to tell you this, but yahoo offers services in all languages. They are what you call a "global enterprise". |

There are millions of legal Spanish speakers in this country. Spanish happens to be one of the most spoken languages in the world, maybe this has noting to do with race, and instead is a window to American issues to those in Spain?
Why does there have to be a racial twist to everything? |
|

Moosey
|
There are people in America who speak Spanish, I didn't know that was wrong. Just as their are people all around the world who speak different languages. |

yeah i did notice it..... its a free country so whats the problem???? you are throwing a tantrum for no reason. your going to have to delete your accounts because they aren't going to change it. people speak more than just English in the United States. |
|

I love America♥♥♥

OH MY GOD
I did NOT notice that untill you said something. Um I totally disagree with it being that way. Its already bad enough that we have to sit and listen to spanish recordings on our phones. How rediculous I hope you do say something!!! |

Well, I'll tell you why. It can be mapped out with a perfect example being the education system:
The evolution in teaching math since the 1950s:
1. Teaching Math In 1950s
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price. What is his profit ?
2. Teaching Math In 1960s
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100 His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit?
3. Teaching Math In 1970s
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80. Did he make a profit?
4. Teaching Math In 1980s
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80 and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.
5. Teaching Math In 1990s
A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the preservation of our woodlands. He does this so he can make a profit of $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did this act of treachery make you feel? (There are no wrong answers, and if you feel like crying, it's ok.)
6. Teaching Math In 2007
Un hachero vende una carretada de maderapara $100. El costo de la producciones es $80. Cuanto dinero ha hecho? |

I think it's BS and the only language that should ever be tied to that flag is English. |
