The son would have to be and remain unmarried. He would be classified as "Family 2B" which the present visa bulletin states takes about
8.5 years, except Mexico which takes 16.9 years and the Philippines which takes 11.2 years.

Only citizens can sponsor immigrants. If she becomes a citizen and if she has sufficient income to sponsor the son, and if he remains unmarried, and if her petition is approved, then the son will wait until his number comes up, depending on what country he is from and how long the line is. Could take a decade or more after she becomes a citizen before he could enter. |
