How much has your area changed?

Our city was generally vibrant, now we have no-go areas populated by Eastern European, Asians (Mainly of Middle-Eastern origin) and Africans. Most of these people can barely speak English (I know as we have had a 100% increase of such people registering at the GP practise where I work in the last 6-8 months and have been liasoning with other practises in our city).

These areas have been turned into Ghetto's, the area of the city I work in has dramatically changed over the last 5 years, some nights I chose to taxi it home because that area is not safe, which is severely putting me out of pocket and as per usual the Police have no interest.

I would say the Migrants or Immigrants or Asylum seekers or whatever label people chose to use are still the minority in my area, but not by much. There were lots of beautiful Estates in my city, but have turned into virtual slums since the above named people were moved into those areas.

Of course the above named people don't get moved into the "real" fancy areas where your councillor's reside or where your local MP has his 4 bedroomed house. It's the rest of us who have to suffer.

My area has changed such that the entire landscape around looks like an area that blends more with a 3rd World City neglected. Smelly corners, where the signs of Urinating leave stains that look like a bad Map of Italy. Rubbish litter the streets. Kebabs,jellabies.Corn, are being cooked and offered for sale to passers by. Shops display their goods along the busy pavements,some extended displays occupy 2/3rds of the Sidewalks leaving the rest of the metre and a bit to be for pedestrians,wheelchairs,post-
boxes,phonebooths,street lighting posts,Street litter-bins ,and sometimes a trunk of a tree covered in red Spittle from the mouths of Bettel Chewing Asians.In the midst of all this chaos stands a woman handing out leaflets that are taken and discarded in seconds.A young East European woman Begging and being assisted by their Children or young accomplices. Where are the Police ? Why are People not using the appropriate crossings? The bus lanes are largely underused but there are long hold ups in both directions ,so there is no danger that people feel in getting across the street through such Traffic Jams .People have little choice but to walk close to the road kerbs, and Whooooosh---- a passing Vehicle wheel has sprayed some pedestrians,and sprayed the Fruit and Vegetables display on the pavement . Where is the nearest Toilet? At the edge of the town . Believe me it is a Hell Hole that was once Englands green and pleasant land . Shame on those who govern us to be immune to what is happennig right before our very eyes. Try walking around the area when it gets dark and you could soon begin to feel insecure if you stand out different to the people around you. You will soon decide it is a No-Go area for someone that looks British and Native,particularly if you happen to meet with a slight car accident . You have NO CHANCE as you will be surrounded by hostile Immigrants from Asia or Africa . You would be only too glad to get the hell out of The Hell Hole.

A lot, There are places in my home town where I wouldnt go on my own and my wife and kids dont feel safe no matter what time of day. We live in a disintigrating Britain and every day it gets worse!

I used to live in Northampton.Since the late 90's it was swamped by Kosovans, Albanians, Somalians--everyone. I had to deal with them every day in my job. Some seemed genuinely decent and trying to get along and adapt to a new life (these were the polite ones who were making an effort to speak English & weren't shouting,trying to barter etc etc). Many more were nightmares--impossible to communicate with, outright rude,demanding, intimidating,even threatening (mostly the young men who had arrived on their own.)
A friend was working in an office when 2 foreign males came in & demanded they be given jobs then & there. She explained there wasn't any & one guy went loopy, screaming that 'your government promise me any job' and he leapt over the counter to grab her! She got away & called the police.
My neighborhood also had lots of newcomers stuffed into a grotty block of flats.Every night there were sirens,fires etc.You didn't dare look as you passed as shady people were doing shady deals in the carpark. The postman refused to deliver because,not only did the tenants spit at him, there was sh*t all over the floors, plus needles,used condoms etc.One mentally ill immigrant topped himself and another was knifed.
Other events involving included a fake taxi driver assaulting girls, several guys who tried to lure 12 yr old girls away, a fight between 2 lots of immigrants in the shopping mall, a murder due to a dispute that had been carried on all the way from eastern Europe.
I have now moved to an area in the west country with very little immigration or change. it is so peaceful & safe here, the worst thing so far has been a few drunks in the town centre on a fri night...
I am not saying all are bad or that we don't have our own criminals, but there are no checks on the background of people entering this country and we seem to be importing the worst,not the best in many cases.

The area where I live now has changed very little in the last 20 years or so, but where I moved from 12 months ago has changed beyond all belief.
What where rows of everyday shops, butchers, greengrocers etc are now all takeaways, sari shops, mobile phone shops, more take aways and asian banks and estate agents.
Thank God I got out.

I don't recognise my birthplace, it was a lovely friendly place with all taking pride in their properties and even back streets.
Now it is an absolute disgrace trough lack of maintenance to properties which are now occupied by guess who! Then guess what, the council decide to throw taxpayers money at the problem & whilst this happens the residents are relocated so that the problem can be repeated in another respectable area of the town. Oh and by the way i have had two personal experences of these being no go areas.

Well the East End of London as a lot of history attached to it i would love to live there but I'm afraid if you were to drive through like i often do you would think you was in Indian its a crying shame.

Once i lived in a lovely little market town in Suffolk............but NOW........... its full of blocks of flats and still building more............full of traffic.....full of people....full of other people who don,t /can,t/won,t intergrate........full of empty pubs and a run-down town centre.......and then you,ll hear/see the occasional police car tearing about.(no more community policing ) .
How is this country benefiting from all the extra workers?....................cos i don,t see much improvement happening around my town. More people...more tax-payers....and then ......we,ll waste billions on a phoney war elsewhere.....whilst the UK suffers meltdown.

Cotswold's,
New Forrest,
The Shires,
Northumberland,
North Yorkshire Moors,
Englands Garden,
Cornwall/Devon,

Yeah the area where I live has changed loads. Loads of cute Eastern European girls and loads of decent Polish food. I never thought I'd be able to go to my local shop and buy perogies! Seems like there are a lot more middle eastern people here as well which is fine by me. The more diversity the better, there doesn't seem to be any racial tension in Cardiff where I live. The UK would be nothing without immigration

I don't care what colour the people are, they are members of my community and I treat them as such.

Other people have asked the same question. Why is it a big problem for you? Im not racist or ageist. i had the debate with you about child brides and i agree its very wrong! i just disagreed with the comment about muslim men as disempowerment comes from all cultures if you know what i mean. Plus you are very personal i think you feel as if i am challenging you, i am not i am just trying to point it out from my side. Which is being mixed race. So am i to blame for areas going down hill? if so is only my asian side to blame or my white side?

I would say however, for the better!

Stop worshipping the British/English. When you next take a beating on a Friday night, it'll be at the hands of white guys. You seem to forget this the moment you move into immigration mode.

For some reason Durham has lots of Orientals. They are great, quiet and demure. Better than the locals. Over time these people will do nothing but good for the area.
