How to apply Visit Visa for UK?

Currently I am working as IT Manger (Technical) in UAE, one of my friend living to U.K.
Q. I also want to work & live U.K. so can anyone let me know how can I first apply for a visit visa for UK and then will try for a job during my visit.
Q. How much will it cost me?
Q. I can live with my friend there so even I have to mention any other address while applying visa?
Q. What all formalities I need to apply for a visit visa?
Pls give me appropriate answers, don’t put any link to follow.

Assuming ur nationality is "Indian".

Firstly, there are no jobs in UK at the moment, people are being made redundant, more than 2 million people are out of job including loads of IT Managers, so it is definitely not the right time to think about finding a job in UK. Employers are preferring the locals or at least EU citizens, because getting a work permit for non-EU citizen is pain in the neck at present & Employers have to pay additional Â£1500 to register their company with Home Office on top of the work permit & visa (of new employee) cost.

Secondly, entering UK with intent to find a job is against the rules & terms you sign when u apply for (visit/tourist) visa, so if you are found looking for job in UK, you will be detained & deported with 2 to 10 years ban.

Thirdly, an average hotel (Bed & Breakfast) will cost u around Â£50 per night in London & around Â£40 in rest of UK. Per day average food would cost u around Â£5 to Â£7 (if u make at home) & if u dine out cheapest u will be looking at Â£15 to Â£20. Travelling is on top, I can only give u the cost in London, that around Â£6 per day (can be more or less depends where u go & how much u travel).

You can mention ur friends address, but then he/she has to give u consent letter that u will be staying at his/her place & she/she has to provide lease agreement or title deed of the house/flat.

For UK visit visa, you need.

1) Letter from your employer, stating how long have u been working with them, and that u will be joining back after u come back from ur holidays in UK.

2) Bank statements, proving you have enough amount for ur trip.

3) Proof of place to live in UK (hotel booking/letter from ur friend)

4) Return Ticket (or at least booking from airline).

Visa officer can ask for further documents if needed.
