I'm an American citizen and my baby also. She has her Consular Report of Birth Abroad, but I still don't have her passport. What is the process for taking her home to visit the family?

well, you should have applied for a US passport at the same time you got the CRBA. It's a bit odd you didn't really or that they wouldn't have suggested it. However, go back to the consulate or embassy and apply for one. shouldn't take too long, one week, maybe a little more. Like anyone else, the baby needs a US passport to enter the US. |

you did not mention from which country you are talking ?
wherever you are? get in touch with the same consular services and apply for a passport for the child,
(you already have the consular report of birth abroad, it is sufficient.)application, pic,
simple and easy. |

You CANNOT go home UNTIL you get that passport.
You must apply to the US passport office and enclose a copy of her certificate of citizenship (which the embassy should have given to you) with the application.
She CANNOT enter USA without a passport.

I wouldn't suggest you doing that.
If she really is an american, you need her birth certificate,
you need to have her passport/visa NO matter what!
How did you get her out of the US in the first place without one?
You have to request one from the US Embassy,
so you will have to fax her things over and wait in the mail until they feel like sending you all that,
OR,,
go to the US embassy nearest to you,
take her certificate/information,
they will ask for your information,
and request a passport,
Americans get all these easily coz their americans,
Oh and after all that, to take her out you will need to have her fathers approval letter if his not traveling with you,
not sure if you will completely need it but have one just in case otherwise they will think you might be trying to "SMUGGLE" her away.
