Not to be critical but neither of the other postings on here are particularly useful to you. You do not need a immigration lawyer. They are very overpriced and you can often do a better job of it on your own. You just need to do your research.

Because you are a US citizen living in Greece and assuming you are resident there, you will initially file a petition for your husband with the US embassy in Athens. ( A form called the I-130 with supporting documentation) )

Depending on whether or not they allow direct filing or processing it will then be forwarded to the NVC or processed by the embassy.

Either way, you will be shaving a good 3 to 6 months off the process had you filed from the US.You will not have to deal with the USCIS and thats always a good thing.

My US husband filed for me when we both lived in the UK and it took only 4 months to get my visa because we filed the I-130 with the US embassy in London (Your husband would get the actual greencard when he comes to the US)

Google the US embassy in Athens ( They will have a website) and follow the directions there. You can usually call the embassy as well. They can tell you if they process the whole visa or part of it etc

When you browse their website remember you are interested in a immigrant visa not a non immigrant visa. There is no limit on visas for a husband, he falls into the immediate relative category.

The complication you will run into and is what all US citizens filing abroad run into unless they are in the military is that you will have to prove you can support him in the US with an affidavit of support. If you don't have a job in the US this is impossible,even a promise of a job is not enough. You can deal with this in one of two ways. You can do what my husband did and that is to go ahead to the US alone, I was not allowed to go with him, after our initial filing and get a job, they accepted one month of work history from him or if you have relatives in the US, you can ask them to co-sponsor your husband if they earn enough, which is not that much actually. Its a pain and it is a problem you will run into.

Well...if he is married to you(American citizen) then he automatically quialifies for one.You should get an immigration lawyer to help you fill out the application for him.
