I'd like to become a citizen, i don't plan on coming back to america.

You can try and get a job and get a company to sponsor a work visa for you :) then once you're here you will most likely fall in love with an English guy/girl. Then once you're married you can live here permanantly.
To the people above, London makes up about 2-3% of the area of England, maybe less. And clearly America isn't paradise if this asker wants to leave. This is why the rest of the world hates you... |

You have to be either related to someone there to sponsor you, or have an "in demand" skill set that is useful for in-demand jobs there.
It's not like the US, where you can just move here, and worry about the rest later. They are required to hire people from EU (European Union) countries first, before they can consider hiring people from other countries.
It's much harder than moving to the US because their immigration laws are so strict and tight. |

you CAN apply for citizenship 5 years after you are permanently settled.
but first you need to qualify for permanent leave to remain (thats what the UK calls their PR process). |

Firstly you can only get citizenship if you have one or either parent who is British. You have to live in the UK for six years before applying for citizenship. Secondly you got to have an offer of a job to settle in the UK. |
