How will sending the guard to the border help solve the immigration problem?

its not supposed to. it is just a political ploy so that maybe Az and conservatives will shut up and chill out and possibly vote yes on immigration reform. this move will probably not work because bush tried it and it didnt do any good. thats all they cried about "we need troops at the border!!" now we are getting troops and they are still complaining and being PITAs (pain in the asses). thats all they know how to do. they cant seem to offer any helpful solutions, and when we give them something they want it is all of a sudden not what they wanted.

put guns in the hands of the guard and give them permission to shoot would slow them down quite a bit i think. putting them on the border otherwise will do nothing.as for the ones already here...... DEPORT THEM

These other countries are not our problem. It will stop more criminals from coming in. It will save more American lives. And the 22 million illegals who are here should be living in fear. They are illegally in another country, they ran from their country and did not do things b the law. They should all be looking over their shoulders. 17 states now want to do what Arizona is doing. We are cracking down!!

they are being sent there in an "observation " mode....it means they will be observing the problems along the border, tactical information relayed to the higher ups --- it will give us more of an advantage when the hammer comes down and this invasion is stopped.......

It won't solve anything. Maybe instead of tying up military personnel by sending them to the border, the president can send lazy, jobless Americans. He should send those people who sit around popping out kids and receiving welfare checks every month. Guarding the border would give them something to do.

It won't help the immigration problem and whatever Obama does won't really help it even if he tried because to really solve it requires force along the border, and deadly force at that. Without a serious fear of loss of life people will keep trying to cross even if they get caught a dozen times in a row. However to many in each party aren't willing to do that and aren't willing to force deportation of illegals. Currently the US will not deport someone if the home country doesn't want to take them back. In many cases the country goes with what its person says and refuses to take them back hence the US feels compelled to let them stay as nowhere to send them to.

Best to toss them all in a boat, drag them into international waters and tell them get lost and if they re-enter US waters sink them.

It's nothing more than a political move by Osama bin Obama and his cronies. Sending military troops to the border *sounds* great, but you can bet those troops' hands will be tied behind their backs so that they can't do a single thing about helping stop the tidal wave of illegal immigrants from Mexico. Face it, the Federal Government has absolutely no interest whatsoever about doing *anything* to slow the illegal immigration problem, to say nothing about stopping it altogether. Just another proof that the United States government is totally out of control and has no intention of doing what the majority of the American people want them to do.
