Think he would do it on a dare?

He could try it. I dare him.
But speaking from a purely legal perspective, they're not his citizens, so he cannot pardon them. Unless an individual is either a citizen (either by birth or naturalization), a resident (in process with a Resident Alien Card), or a visitor (via visa good for at least 6 months), then there is no legal jurisdiction at all.
That's why, when thousands of illegal immigrants took to the streets to protest, it was just the most bizarre situation. Let me put it this way, by way of analogy: If I were to fly to, let's say Pakistan, as a tourist (which still makes me legal), and I organized a rally (to protest I don't know what) with other tourists (who are also legal entrants), how crazy would that be? Who would actually listen? The reaction would be, "Who are you people?" And rightly so.
Currently, there are thousands of people immigrating into this country. They are in process and will be for several years. They've paid the fees and waited patiently in dozens of huge lines, wasted whole days at INS/DHS buildings all across the nation. I, too, was one of these people. It took me five and a half years to become a citizen. Now, I'm not particularly bothered either way, but I can imagine a lot of those people being pretty angry. It's kind of like sitting in a 200 car lane behind some road works, and watching as some sh*thead takes the next lane and forces their way in ahead of everyone. It's just crazy that they would be allowed to get away with that, and ultimately win the same rights as those of us who broke no law and worked extremely hard to do so.
But... I will say this once more, as I've said before:
The whole illegal immigration issue has been made to take center stage for one reason only. It is intended as a distraction technique to take the heat off of the worsening situation in Iraq, the developing situation in Iran, and the president's sliding approval ratings. It is purely a means to sustain the Republican Party long enough to keep their majority in the Senate and the House. I truly believe that once the mid-term elections are out of the way the whole issue will evaporate. |

This is all trash to get the focus on illegal immigrants. The economy is going to hell because of a trillion dollar deficit from the pointless war and that is incomparable compared to the millions illegals mooch off the health care system.

The rate of illegal immigration has not changed, yet all the stories suddenly switched to illegal immigrant problems in the news. This is a political switch for when blame time comes and the economy is doing horrible, people will blame immigrants instead of the massive accumulated debt killing our soldiers to protect some random countries oil for exxon.
illegals work cheap. The companies get more profits. The companies have to pay more taxes. Taxes pays the illegals healthcare. Blame the companies that employ them cheap if you have a problem with that and demand they give them healthcare like any citizen. Right now they work for slave labor prices and get hurt, just like anyone else.
The fence will be the largest most vandalized project ever and a waste of tax money. Immigrants what a better life forever. Fences won't stop them. |

I would feel betrayed, if I was a legal immigrent I would also feel betrayed, of course George Bush has betrayed the American people throughout his presidency so I would not put it past him. No I do not think even he would dare. |

I think that history books would look back on that single act as being the end of American supremacy in the western world and the start of the dumbing-down of the United States. It would mark the end of welfare since American tax dollars will not be able to stretch that thinly--which will be a humorous shock to all the fake Americans living here to get at welfare dollars--they will soon run out for EVERYONE and then all the freeloaders will have to either die off or go out and start working. It will be a major turning point since the amnesty bill will allow for these fake Americans to bring over their family still living in Mexico also--mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, can ALL come over and live here. A safe estimate would be that within 10 years there will 100,000,000 Mexicans swarming in America and within 20 years it will approach 200,000,000 which means that America will then sink to the garbage-living conditions that now exist in Mexico. Once the Mexicans have spoiled America then they will move northward to Canada and start again.
Get ready. It's the end of the world as we know it. |

Not surprised.
Think about the incredible surge of illegal immigrants coming across the border as that is announced. How do you figure out who has amnesty and who doesn't. There's no documentation. |

I'd feel like he was finally doing something good. The criminals should be incarcerated. The common would-be citizens should stay. God made the world without boundaries. We teach our kids to share and then kick people out of our country just because we feel a little uncomfortable??? Get over it! America is a melting pot! It will balance out. It always does. Look in history. |

Wow, I'd be BEYOND pissed. That's incredibly unfair to my parents who have struggled for many years to make a living here and to become citizens.
I hate how their excuse is that it breaks up their families. Well, my mother has been here for about 22 years and her family is STILL broken up because the legal process takes a long time. It's ridiculous that these ILLEGAL immigrants should get a free pass.
They broke the damn law! Why should they get a reward? Should murderers or drug smugglers rally and get rewarded too? It's f*cking insane! |

Impeach him then ship him to the country he is loyal to. Along with all those illegals he gave amnesty then a pardon to. That would be him forgiving their crimes and then wiping the crime off the books. |

I'd be so peeved!!!! They're illegal and they shouldn't be rewarded or excused... they should be sent back and forced to apply for entry just like everyone else in the world who wants to move & work in another country! |

I believe there would be many protests and the problems he has would come more to light than are at this moment. It would hurt the Republican elections in November and risk the take over of Democratic seats becoming the majority. I am certain there are more things he has done illegally that his pals have hidden, they would put pressure on him not to do this. |

Please don't forget this country doesn't have just Mexican immigrants.
Remember there are Polish, Germans, people from Latin America WHICH IS NOT MEXICO FOR THOSE THAT BELIEVE that people from Venezuela, Salvador, Peru, etc...come from Mexico.
We are in a country were everyone has the same rights right?
why would you just kick out or like some people say SHIP THEM BACK!!! the Mexicans ??? it will take years to send back the Irish, Polish, Germans, Latins NOT MEXICANS! etc. |

That's precisely what he is doing with his plans. He is a traitor to this country and anti-American.
The illegals make up about 5 % of the work force. The unemployment rate is about 4.5%. Keep in mind that the unemployment rate does NOT represent everyone who is unemployed. It only counts those who are collecting unemployment. Everyone else's plight is ignored. The unemployment rate if everyone was counted would be tremendous. We do NOT have a shortage of labor, we have a large surplus. The more illegals that come in and take our jobs at minimum wage or less (often less) puts more and more Americans out of a job. Most of these Americans are never counted in the unemployment rate if they do not manage to get unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are hard to receive.
Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.
My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.
They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.
I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.
"Mexico is waging war on the U.S. through mass immigration illegal and legal, through the assertion of Mexican national claims over the U.S., and through the subversion of its laws and sovereignty, all having the common end of bringing the southwestern part of the U.S. under the control of the expanding Mexican nation, and of increasing Mexico’s political and cultural influence over the U.S. as a whole.
Cultural imperialism
We experience Mexico’s assault on our country incrementally—as a series of mini-crises, each of which calls forth ever-renewed debates and perhaps some tiny change of policy. Because it has been with us so long and has become part of the cultural and political air we breathe, it is hard for us to see the deep logic behind our “immigration problem.” Focused as we are on border incursions, border enforcement, illegal alien crime, guest worker proposals, changes of government in Mexico City, and other such transient problems and events—all of them framed by the media’s obfuscation of whether or not illegal immigration’s costs outweigh its benefits and by the maudlin script of “immigrant rights”—we don’t get the Big Picture: that the Mexican government is promoting and carrying out an attack on the United States.
Another reason we miss what’s happening is that our focus is on the immigrants as individuals. Thus our leaders talk about illegal immigrants as “good dads,” “hard working folks” seeking to better their lives and their family’s prospects. In fact, this is not about individual immigrants and their families, legal or illegal. It is about a great national migration, a nation of people moving into our nation’s land, in order to reproduce on it their own nation and people and push ours aside.
Thus, in orchestrating this war on America, the Mexican state is representing the desires of the Mexican people as a whole.
What are these desires?
(1) Political revanchism—to regain control of the territories Mexico lost to the U.S. in 1848, thus avenging themselves for the humiliations they feel they have suffered at our hands for the last century and a half;
(2) Cultural imperialism—to expand the Mexican culture and the Spanish language into North America; and especially
(3) Economic parasitism—to maintain and increase the flow of billions of dollars that Mexicans in the U.S. send back to their relatives at home every year, a major factor keeping the chronically troubled Mexican economy afloat and the corrupt Mexican political system cocooned in its status quo. "

On a dare? What are you twelve?
If I were one of the probably 50 million people who went through the entire process to get into this country and become a citizen legally. I might be a more than a little mad.
Now if he grants a presidential pardon to all those who entered illeaglly and now go home. I don't have a problem.
Granting amnesty or fast tracking persons who have entered this country illegally is a slap in the face of every person who has had to jump through the hoops and put up with the red tape to get their citizenship LEGALLY! |

If Bush was such a big hearted person, he would grant it.
Let's face it, sending national guard troops to the border will not mitigate the illegal crossing, as well as deporting them to their country. Though the security may somewhat increase, those with strong incentive will still do whatever it takes to make it to the United States if not soon enough. They will do it again, life or death, if found or caught.
The best way to resolve the difficult situation is to establish the guest-worker program, where illegal immigrants can come to America working legally, and eventually work their way to a permanent residency or be a naturalized citizen for years to come. As you should know those illegal immigrants have some effects on our economy by taking crucial jobs. Some of them work very hard making ends meet. However for the minority who came to United States conducting criminal, illegal activity or business should not be pardoned and be punished by the justice.
We have to remember that United States is a diverse nation made up of various races from around the world, and we shouldn't be using military force or deportation to deal with illegal immigrants. In doing so will not result a remedy. |
