I'm 16 and i have a green card?
Find answers to your legal question.

I'm 16 and i have a green card?

i'm an immigrant. here's my question

1) if my parents try to send me back to korea and i refuse, do i still
have to go? .

2) can they cancel my green card without my approvement?

i know i'm not 18..but i'm mature to make my own dicisions.
whenever i get in trouble at school, they threaten me that they'd
send me back to korea. but i dont really wanna go. i'd rather run away.
what would happen if i ran away? would i get in trouble for that?
would i be exiled from this country?? fyl, i came here 2 years ago

1) Yes. You are a minor until you become 18 and your parents are your legal guardian.

2) No. Green card is yours and nobody can cancel it except immigrant officer at USCIS or Port of Entry.

If you run aways, your parents will call the police and they will return you to your parents.

You may think your mature enough but in the eyes of the law you are still a minor and not capable of making adult decisions. If you have relatives in Korea they can send you back if they feel this is in your best interest. You run away and you cause yourself deeper problems for yourself with your parents and the police

Sounds like you have a lot of growing up to do. Spend the next two years appreciating your parents.

1. The worst they can do is cut off the money.

2. Why are you getting into trouble at school? Because you are still a guest in the USA, until you become a citizen, and as a guest you have to be on your best behavior.

You are 16. In the U.S., in most places, you are their responsibility until you turn 18, unless they go to court and sign papers to emancipate you. They can send you back to Korea if they want...you can refuse, but then it will be up to them to decide how to handle things..after all, they are your parents. If you ran away, they can notify the police and they will find you and bring you back to them. Your parents cannot cancel your green card but you can lose your permanent residency if you commit a crime. Is that why they want to send you back to Korea?

You have been living alone in another country for two years?
NO your parents can not send you back!
You are legal obligated to have your own say!
Its all legit!

I'm having the same problem, but I am not a citizen nor do i have a green card. I got a 42 on a test, and my dad is threatening to send me back to Brazil. (my ave is a 94) He calls me names like stupid, moron etc. whenever we h ave a fight over my grades. he thinks that i care more about beauty than studying. i don't want to go away from the us, cause everything is better here. If they decide to go, do i still have to go?????
