I was born in Canada, but when I was 9, my dad got a work visa for the United States and we moved there, I lived there until I was almost 17. I recently moved back to Canada to live with a relative, but the States is my home and I want to apply for a green card when I'm 18, or whatever age you need to be.
How do I do this?
Am I eligible?
Does my residency the last 7 years count for anything, if it was under my parent's work visa?

Look up "TN Visa" on line. If you have a qualifying degree you can come and work in the USA for three years. You have to line up a job first. After you start, you apply for an H-1B visa and during that time, you apply for a green card. The whole process will take at least 7 years.
If you cannot qualify for a TN visa, you will not qualify for any other kind of work visa either. |

Your residency doesn't count for anything. To apply for a green card you'd need either a U.S.-citizen eligible family member (what's your dad's status?) OR an employer to sponsor you.
Your best bet is probably to try to get a student visa, do a degree here, and eventually try for green card sponsorship by an employer. |
