I got EAD card which authorized me to work on OPT and i just noticed that on the EAD card, there is A#....So i 'm not sure now that this A# is my Alien # or i just skip this number when i fill out I-485 and any other forms.
ps. I'm international student, on opt right now and going to apply to adjust status to permanent resident through marriage to US citizen. Thanks!!

that number on the ead (through OPT) is not your greencard A#... its just your EAD number (through OPT), even though it says A#. On your I485, put "none" under where it says A#.
but if you got your EAD through your adjustment of status, then that is your greencard number... from reading your question, it seems that your EAD is through OPT.
I too had an EAD through OPT. when i adjusted status (by being sponsored by my mom) my attorney put "none" on that A# part. after i submitted the I485, i went through fingerprinting and got an EAD card (that gave me the A# greencard number). when i look at both EAD's, the A# are different.
the reason why the I485 form has A# part, is because this is the same form that greencard holders applying for u.s. citizenship use too to adjust status to citizenship..
