immigration is a big problem, i have nothing against them coming over here if they are willing to work and pay their way like the rest of us, but most seem to get a furnished house, money free healthcare etc, i do get annoyed at times as we the british seem to be 2nd, i have worked damn hard from the day i left school to be where i am today and i will continue to...but can i get to a dentist with my toothache? no chance (yes i am in pain so im allowed a moan)

I agree with many of your points. People immigrating to another country should be willing to take care of themselves. Here in Canada, we are supposed to have sponsors for new immigrants (this is to help insure that they stay off welfare). The problem I see arising is what to do about refugees? Obviously they may not be able to meet your requirements....and I'm not to keen on your asking all immigrants to check in with local police station....sounds a little to much like a communist police state for my liking.

i 'd like to go and work in the Uk some time after i finish my masters degree and i totally agree with all the conditions.
in fact i would prefer it if there were all those conditions.

til that time i ll come to visit the Uk from time to time just for a holiday and desperately play 'spot the white face' on the streets of london. such a pity :S

I think those are all sensible and reasonable ideas- they seem pretty obvious measures to take, and your probably voicing the thoughts of a big majority. But, seriously, what are the chances of Britain implementing common sense laws like this? It's never going to happen. Immigrants see Britain as a push over. We can't even take care of our own, never mind hundreds of thousands from other countries.

If all illegal immigrants were found and removed from Britain, London would come to a standstill as there are so many working there. It tells you a lot about this country doesn't it?

I'll ignore your spelling mistakes.
1) Fair enough. Asylum seekers would have to be an exception to the profession and financially able to support themselves rule.
And asylum seekers would have to come to the UK while their application was processed, otherwise they would be arrested, tortured, or killed in the country they were trying to escape from.
2) Fair enough. But it would be expensive and bureaucratic.
3) It is not really the job of hospital staff to check immigration status or for paramedics to look for papers. Health care should be free to all. All children should go to school. Fair enough on the housing and other benefits, except asylum seekers would have to be given a job and housing.
4) There should be zero tolerance for crime anyway, but there should always be an appeal process. If the crime is a petty crime then, if they lose their appeal, the immigrant should be deported. For a serious crime, the immigrant should serve his or her sentence before being deported.
5) Armed forces in crowded areas are a really bad idea. Perhaps a few well placed snipers, but these cops with machine guns have to go.

It's about time someone in power did something like that. I don't work and pay my taxes to support other people, I pay taxes so we can have healthcare, schools and a police force. You'd get my vote!!!

I wouldn't let any more in until we had full employment and al the people who were already living here had the chance to earn a fair wage.

Then they can come and "do the jobs we don't want to do"!!!

Until then I believe the government should concentrate on the people who are already here and making sure they get a fair deal. At the moment they are not.

Also, I would not accept ANY asylum seekers. I'd send them to another country with a smaller population or more space, like Australia.

I bet you are really proud of taking away their rights, not even giving them a chance to prove their innocence, then sending them back to the the thing they were fleeing from for their lives.

If I were running your country I would make it illegal for illiterates to have access to the Internet. That way everyone posting on boards like this would have had at least a primary school education and we would be spared gibberish like this.
