Bad mistake! It will go badly aginst you regardless, but the final result will probably depend on what the lie was.

The whole purpose of the interview is to determine if your relationship is long standing, genuine, continuing and hasn't been entered into just to get you to Australia. If your lie cast doubt on anything relating to those considerations, you have no chance of getting a visa and you and/or your partner may well be charged with attempted visa fraud.

If your application is rejected, you should consult an experienced immigration lawyer - one who is used to dealing with Australian immigration.

Lying on an immigration form is bad news, likely they will have flagged you up and decline your application. Aussie immigration is pretty strict. Maybe if the details are innocent enough they may reconsider, but it depends on what you've actually lied about.

if they know you lied then your application will be denied.

you can go on living but you wont be living in australia

UH IT REALLY DEPENDS WHAT YOU LIED ABOUT??
MY PARTNER APPLIED FOR A SPOUSE VISA WITH ME, AND HE WAS CURRENTLY ON A STUDENT VISA, HOWEVER HE WAS NOT MEANT TO WORK HE DID, 40 HOURS AND STOP STUDYING CAUSE WE HAD A CHILD, THIS WAS AGAINST HIS RULES ON HIS STUDENT VISA, HOWEVER IT WAS FINE, AND THEY GRANTED IT.

SO IT REALLY DEPENDS WHAT YOU LIED ABOUT, I DID TELL A LITTLE WHITE LIE, TO THE ABOUT MY GOVERNMENT PAYMENTS, BUT SO FAR EVERYTHING IS FINE.

SO PLEASE GET BACK TO ME AND LET ME KNOW!

CAUSE IT SAYS WHEN YOU ARE SIGNING FOR APPLICATION FOR VISA, THAT IF YOU LIE, STRIGHT AWAY THEY CAN CANCELL IT WITHOUT ANY NEGOABLE AGREEMENT
