Red flags are flying!! You're only 17, that's awfully young to be getting married. He's wanting you to help him be a legal resident and has had trouble with the law, that's suspicious. I'd be waiting a LONG time on this one.

The fact that your stated reason to marry him is to "give him papers" indicates that you don't have a clue what marriage is.
He has trouble with the law for a reason. You need to develop some self esteem first. Then you'll be able to really offer something to a marriage. Please don't have children until you give yourself time to grow up?

Please understand that every girl between the ages of 14 and 23 thinks that she is "in love" and "going to forever be with" just about every guy she goes on more than two or three dates with. I know you are going to say that this is not the case for you, this is REAL, TRUE LOVE. But I hope you will take advice from someone who has been there.

1) You are too young to commit the rest of your life to any man, let alone one who is taking advantage of you.

2) He is taking advantage of you...how? at least two ways...
a) Let me guess, he's not 17, right? he's taking advantage
of your youth and naive outlook on life. (I don't mean this
as an insult to you, it's just the reality of the situation.)

b) He's using you to gain legal status here and once he
doesn't need you, he'll be gone...and in the mean time,
he'll very likely have other girls on the side.

I hope you'll do the right thing for yourself instead of what's best for him. You can spend more time on yourself, getting your education, working on your future, figuring out who you are. What you want, show that you are a good person.... but also a fool. You are only thinking about the guy who is illegal, a trouble maker and with no future. If you want to be part of that well, go right ahead but I don't think you are thinking clear enough to make that decision. Your best bet is to cut him off your life because if you don't he is going to do it and you will only have his kids and problems for the rest of your life. You are young but you don't have to be stupid. Get out now before is too late. You are a beautiful person and there are a lots of nice guys out there that they could make you happy and not necessary have all of that baggage that your present boy friend have. Let me give you a little advice...
When a person is been or is in trouble with the law...They do are very charming and all the Nice's thing but deep in their mind is a troubled person so I say Run as fast as you can...
You are a very young person one day you will regret to be around people like that.

And NOT he will never get a legal status because he is been in trouble with the law.
A person that had or have trouble with the law...Will be deported if they are illegal in this country.

You canÂ´t sponsor him until you are 18 but I would advise you to wait until after you graduate from college. If heÂ´s still around by then then consider marrying him but you are too young to do it now. I also advise against it if heÂ´s been in trouble with the law, you donÂ´t want that baggage. Also, he will have to return to his come country while waiting for his papers to be approved and they might not be approved based on his criminal record.

Ok im in a slightly similar situation although marriage hasn't been discussed and won't be until everything legal is sorted and understood and until im through with school and everything is sorted.
I suggest you do the same, doesn't say where you both are from but have you considered visas rather than marriage first?
Marriage at 17 is crazy, and marriage at 17 for citizenship is crazier and you are more likely to be caught out.
Look into other options before getting a fiancee visa, if you are in different countries im guessing you have never really been together as a 'couple' like living together on a long term thing, which nowadays would be a pre requisite for marriage.
Im not sure about the law side of it, my boyfriend is the same and it's hard to find information about how a record will effect it, you'll have to go to an immigration lawyer i think.

Perhaps tell your boyfriend make amends with the law. I know it can be terrifying but if you want to have a future together, face the music now rather than get into trouble in the future.
