I don't know how it works for the US, but provided that you can only get there by plane you have to get in contact with the American embassy beforehand I would say.
For France, you can ask for asylum in Yemen at the French embassy. You can ask for asylum at the border, if your demand seems justified they will give a temporary permit, but it seems risky if they deem your demand inappropriate they will send you back to Yemen or Somalia. If you can go to France you can ask for asylum while you are in France.
I think the best thing to do is to get in contact with an association that helps out refugees, they are well aware of all the requested procedures, the documents that you must have so on and so forth. Good luck

You would need a refugee travel document to take the place of a Somalian passport and a U.S. visa with a classification on it that matched the purpose of your trip.

If the government of Yemen issues travel documents to its refugees, apply for one. If you get it, apply for a U.S. visa.

Am an ethiopian refugee in kenya with my 2brother and 1sistere.After my interview on oct 18/2010 and made my medicat on november 9/2010. One of my sister and brother went to canada with our UNHCR paper for RsD decision to get our mandat.But as i mentioned above my one sister and brother went with our decision for mandat undere UNHCR for mandat but know after they went we are the rest of the family also recieved last month our visa but then i dont know y iom officer denay to give us exit visa undere kenya government and notified us with our mandat we will not go out from kenya or to canada so pliz.I want what will happen on our future on our visa pliz tell ur answer
