I am sick of working, how can i get on welfare so i dont have to work anymore?

Actually, speaking as someone who works with welfare clients, and who resides in NJ (which another poster claimed to be the one of the most liberal states in America), getting on welfare won't mean that you won't have to work. When welfare became TANF back in the 90s, work requirements were implemented for all recipients. In order to receive cash benefits, federal regulations require that you must work a minimum of 20 hours per week in a work related activity. NJ (one of the most liberal states in America) decided to do better than that, so they require all their recipients to do 35 hours.
I guess there goes your idea of a "laid back" lifestyle.

I would say either California, or New Jersey as they are the most liberal states and liberals like handing out other peoples money.

As a single non-disabled person, there aren't many public assistance programs for you.

And people receiving assistance are required to work, so there ya go.

as a single mother on welfare, i can tell you, its not easy. i cant pay any of my bills and they give me little amounts of cash assistance and i have to look for jobs for 40 hours a week and they call the places and check to see if i really did put the applications in. plus, living in a rural area, almost half of my cash assistance is going toward GAS to drive to places looking for jobs. so im making about a dollar- 2 dollars an hour while im struggling to find places and fill out applications.

theres no jobs in my area! and theres a 23% unemployment rate

Well you could get a back injury. Or you could get some other mental problem. My dad said my cousin gets welfare cause she is too depressed to work and can't handle the day to day stress.

Or you could get sue a company and live off your settlement money. It shouldn't be too difficult now.

I think that everyone will be leaning towards quitting work and not paying bills now because the government is gonna take care of us. Obama promised.
