I know to go to JAG but i am not going to do that yet. does anyone out there have a little knowledge?

Call the US Embassy and ask them. Perhaps you find the in formations also on the web from the Embassy. You need to do some paper works and get married in Germany or in US.

make sure that both you and your wife understand that your wife cannot be a dual german and US citizen - as germany does not allow dual citizenship.
your children however WILL be allowed to have dual citizenship (under German laws), but that dual citizenship CANNOT be passed on to their children (your grand kids). |

It happens all of the time. You go to legal, you fill out the paperwork, have her birth certificate or passport, have an interview and that is about that. Sure there is more paperwork after that but it is no big deal.
You said you don't want to do that yet. Do you want to get married or not? Talk to JAG, find out what you need to do and go from there. What is the big holdup? |

Ask your Commanding Officer who will direct you to contact the right department in MOD. You may get all the forms there through proper channel. Wish you good luck. |

Presumably you're intending to get married in Germany, which means that once you're married, you'll need to sponsor her for residency so she can go back with you to the US, however things can be a little different for military personnel.
Your best bet would be to visit JAG as soon as possible. They'll tell you everything you need and help you in filing the paperwork. |
