Does it give them the right to disrespect our country and our culture and our laws? |
|

it doesn't give you the right to disrespect them but the right to not hire them for jobs and such. other immigrants go through the process to get their green card status. |

Sort of.. You can disrespect their values for having the nerve to BREAK THE LAW and come into a country illegaly and use up its resources illegaly and take away from the people who are earning those resources by following the law. It is no different than disrespecting a criminal, because that is what they have become. |

Do illegals have the right to direspect my country and our culture? You real bright aint ya? No point taken! Try again Marisol! |

Their culture is ok as long as it stays on their side of the border. We don't need it here, we've got our own culture. |

All illegal immigration isn't Mexico to the USA
or Cuba to the USA. Therefore, you can't classify who'se illegal. A Russian or Scandinavian that decides to work and stay past their visa to settle down may be considered an illegal immigrant or if they came into the country illegally |

suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you dont agree with illegal immigration...thats probably why you basically complimented illegals for their actions in your last *question* |

Agree or not America is a beautiful Melting Pot! I am a US citizen and am in no way threatened by immigrants. Those who are are just ignorant and insecure. Immigrants is what made this country what it is and will still continue to be a great country, only now it has culture!
A line from a poem, “The New Colossus,” by the nineteenth-century American poet Emma Lazarus. “The New Colossus,” describing the Statue of Liberty, appears on a plaque at the base of the statue. It ends with the statue herself speaking:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
No one can change this fact! |

Yes it does. Illegal immigrants do not respect America or our culture!! We will respect them if they respect us!! |

You mean like how illegals disrespect us and our culture by breaking the law to get here? |

Who's disrespecting their culture? Isn't it their responsibility to build up their own reputation instead of encouraging others from their community to come to the US illegally and then burning our flag?
I say if they don't like how they're perceived by the rest of the country then they need to do something about their community's criminals. |

Disrespect their culture, NO.
Disrespect them, YES. They are law breakers and have no respect for our country. If we deported all the people who entered this country illegally or stayed here illegally we would eliminate a lot of corollary criminal activity. |

No, we don't have the right to disrespect anyone beliefs or culture. However, people are stereo typed and generally people act and think on those views even if they are incorrect.
As for treating them like dirt, again the issue that people want and feel a right to take advantage of a system (US/UK) that they have no right to. (ie. Social benefits) Yes, it does annoy me that people who are illegals feel they should have more right than others who have followed the rules and law to come to the States in the correct manner.
Do I disrecpect that illegal person for their culture - No. I am 'cheesed off' that they feel they have the right to be here and work and live when they don't legally have that right. That has nothing to do with where they came from, it is more a case of the has broken the law. |

Not at all!! |

No, not at all. Afterall their culture has NOTHING to do with an illegal thing a selective person from that culture is doing. It's like if an American went abroad somewhere, did something stupid, and then someone hated America and the american culture JUST based upon that one person.
I know you have in mind more than one person doing the same crime, but you get my point... |

I feel certain that the legals know that we are not against them. Especially those who've been here for a while. How can one respect illegals who have no respect for our country, our laws and definitely not for Americans? This being a legal issue, I'm not concerned too much about how the illegals feel! |

I like the way you think dog tricks. no, it does not give anyone the right to disrespect them or their culture. Oh wait...freedom of speech. I'm sorry, they do have that right.
Is it credible? no. it just tells me that they have no reasoning or problem solving skills that they have to resort to culture bashing.
by the way, haven't you inhaled a scoop of fresh dirt? It is the most high experience. I wish i could wear it. well, i do wear patchouli-it's close, but it's not the same. dirt should be a positive connotation. |

Good question. I believe that it does give you the right to somewhat disrespect the person, as they have broken our laws in coming here illegally. When someones first act upon crossing a border is the violation of that country's laws, I don't see that as what I would define "respectable behavior". However I believe that does not give anyone the right to disrespect an entire culture based on the actions of individuals. I think your question on that aspect has some merit, and I think I see where you're coming from, as so many of our recent immigrants (legal and not) inadvertently disrespect the culture of our country by their refusal to actively assimilate themselves to the culture of this country (ie: not learning the language etc.) such as immigrants in the past have done.
Hope I was helpful |

Based on your previous questions, you do support illegal immigration. I will not claim to respect illegal aliens because I do not respect criminals; a plain and simple fact. Any disrespect for the culture of Mexicans is a byproduct of their disrespect for the laws of the United States. |

No, not at all. People yield at stop signs, break the speed limit, and run redlights, does that mean that they deserve to be disrespected?....NO...and even though those are minor laws, they are still LAWS. |
|

?

of course not! they're unrelated. |

Attitudes towards illegal immigrants is certainly less civil than it could be.
However, whatever your position on those who have come into your country in violation of your laws, respect and civility is certainly due to their country of origin, and the citizens thereof.
Anyhow, even racists secretly love Mexico. They invented the taco. |

You can do whatever the hell you want, unless you dont want to sound like a hypocrite or an azzhole/******. So I guess the answer your looking for would be no. But i guess that doesnt apply to most of these people on here. (Not this question in particular.) |

I don't think you should really disrespect anyone unless it is personal. It is not fair to people as a whole to classify them based on culture. Noone has the choice to be born into a certain class or race. While illegal immigration gets to me as well, people are really just trying to do better for their families. Just because someone is of another culture, it does not mean that they are illegal....a lot of people do go about the correct way to get into our country. Classifying them as illegals would be like us going to another country and them being rude to us because they see us as spoiled because we are american. You could be from Alabama living in a tent, but would still be spoiled according to them. |

It is our culture that is the problem, the only problem with the mexican people is their government. The same can be said about the U.S. Why are so many angry at mexicans for our own fault of not securing the boarder properly? |

hell no |

No it doesn't. You can be against illegal immigration but it doesn't mean you have to disrespect illegal immigrants or their culture. The people who do that are the racists who use the fact that they are illegal as a way to disrespect their customs or cultures. |
