When I see what is happening to our country, our schools, our hospitals, our neighborhoods, and when I see how bad Americans are getting the shaft yes I want to vomit.

I agree that no child belongs in a prison, but my question to you is why are they there in the first place? How did they get here illegally?

The people in these films appeared to be illegal Mexicans. So how did the children get into our country? Before we blame the US government for doing their job, we need to look at the parents who sneaked across the border with total disregard as to what might happen to their children.

I have got one of the biggest hearts in the world when it comes to children and animals being abused in any way. I feel awful that innocent children are having to pay the price of their parents breaking the law.

I don't think that people should be held in detention centers any longer than it takes to process their paperwork and fingerprint the offenders. All of these people should be in back in the country that they came from.

If people from another country are fleeing because of tragic situations - they do it legally by reaching out and requesting help. Our country has always been one of the most generous countries in the world - which is why illegals are always trying to take advantage of our kindness. Illegals don't care what how they are affecting other people - including their children.

I am so very sorry that these children are being held like prisoners. It breaks my heart - but you need to look to the parents for blame.

Please continue your question by explaining why people are crossing the border illegally. Why can't you clean up your own country and make it a better place to live?

How, in good conscience, could anyone put their children's lives in jeopardy by illegally entering another country knowing that thay could be deported and were living a criminal existence that could cause great harm for their children? I have no sympathy for their ignorant parents, the children are victims of their parents crimes. The Bible states, the sins of the parents are visited upon the children. I understand that better now. I'm Mexican American and I really see nothing wrong with this.
I did a yahoo search on the center and found a Austin news station story on it they went in the building and I saw nothing wrong. They had hot meals, games, toys, beds. In no way should this be compared to a Nazi camp.

What makes me sick is when ADULTS KNOW there is a chance they will get deported back to their own country. HOWEVER, they decide to have a baby in our country. Those ADULTS should have came to the U.S.A. LEGALLY. The only people that should be sick is those kids! They didn't ask for none of that. The only blame should be put on THEIR PARENTS!!

Yes......it's sad. It's a shame the parents put their children in that situation by not abiding by the law. We ALL pay the consequences of our choices whether or not we ment them to hurt the people we care about or not.

You cannot tell me that when they made the choice to come here illegally....that they didn't know and understand that they were breaking the law. Breaking the law by the millions, in another country, isn't fixing their problem.

I'm sure somewhere there are films of children in a foster care setup that make this look like the ritz because of bad choices their parents made. Innocent victims because of their PARENTS choices. You can't just not abide by the law because you don't like it. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair but that's the way it is. If life was nothing but severe poverty.....even in there it must be better than where they ran from. There's no "better" medical care or education in Mexico. If there were......why would you risk it then?

Atleast there they do eat and have some form of life......no....not what they WANT.....but they aren't making them pound rocks or "service" the guards. They aren't killing them for body parts. Compared to other countries....it could be ALOT worse. So sorry.......maybe people will wake-up and start obeying the law. I don't care what stories people hear....there is a border and it's illegal to come into this country illegally. Can't pay your dues? Then don't do the crime. Think through your decisions instead of just doing what you feel like doing or finding an easier way than going about things the right way. Most of all......don't drag your kids into a bad situation if you don't want them to suffer. They are YOUR responsibility and suffer YOUR decisions.

They took a big gamble in breaking the law and new that their were repercussions .The kids are the losers in this scenario, but , their idiot parents are to blame. I would never ever put my kids in a compromising situation no matter what. I would rather live in poverty and strive to improve things. I can speak because I was originally from a third world country however my parents brought us all over LEGALLY.Its time for them to work on their own countries instead of ruining ours........

Yeah, the children's parents make me sick. How can they expose their kids to such danger by crossing the border illegally? For those of you comparing this to concentration camps, I think you need to do a little research on it first. These kids aren't being used for labor, we aren't shoving them into ovens, or telling them that they're taking a shower only to find out that two minutes later they can't breathe because of the poisonous gas. Those kids shouldn't be in jail, we should release them back to Mexico the day after they're caught.

But, if the U.S. had done this on a consistent basis from the beginning, maybe they wouldn't break the law by coming over here.
Maybe, if the knew that there was no Uncle Sam that was there to take care of them, they wouldn't have so many babies that they can't afford to take care of properly.
