I know that due to EU I don't really have, however I love the country and I would love to have the U.K. nationality. Do you know if there are any restrictions due to EU or any restrictions?

Well if u registered with home office in 2004 & have a resident card since then, of course u can. If not, NO, you need to get registered, have a 5 years resident card (living as EU citizen in UK) and live in UK for 5 years, then u can.
Otherwise u can, but procedure is not easy, u will have to involve a lawyer & give him your last SIX P60s that u have been paying TAX to Inland Revenue as a proof of ur residence in UK, then he will prepare the documentation & then u can apply for citizenship, keep in mind u still need to pass IELTS (English language test) with score of 6 or more & also the life in UK test (its compulsory for UK citizenship no matter if u already are an EU citizen).

ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) is for non-EU citizens living UK, it doesn't apply to EU citizens living in UK.

Under EU Directive 2004/38 you must live in the country five years before you can apply for permanent residency. Provided you have followed Home Office rules regarding declaring yourself to them applying for permanent residency, indefinite leave to remain, should be fairly straight forward. Once you have obtained it and had it for a year (though citizenship rules are under review and subject to change) you can apply for UK citizenship. |
