I don't have access to a fire place or any other means (bon fire, etc) Additional Details I can't shred them, there are to many and they are information sensitive.

We use and old tire rim with rocks on the bottom and put a grill over the top its best to do it at nite on an evening that allows fire burning. They usually tell you in the morning what the air quality is for that day and if it ok to burn the do it at night no plastic. really bad for the air. you can get an old tire rim at the junk yard for a couple bucks. And use the grill from your bbq or a rack from your oven, Good luck |

You just said that you have no means of burning them. That answered your question. There may be a place in your town that has an incinerator that you can access. |

if the place where you or your family work have a shredder bin (where the shredder company comes once a month to pick up the bin and shred its content in the truck), do that. that's what i do. if not, try to make your own bonfire... |

Do you have a bar-be-que grill? Said papers are a great way to get the coals going. If you do not have one you can get a small one from some place like Wal-Mart for around $20. |

there are companies that provide document services for large quantities of documents, like when old businesses go out of business? those services include shredding, maybe one of them might incinerate? maybe you could look into that and see if that would be an option for you. Look in the phone book or google to see if there is one around you. Here's one; http://www.shredit.com/ |

there are company's that offer that service. look it up and im sure you will find that it is cheaper and less of a hassle to just have them do it. If not go to a hardware store buy a metal bucket, excellerant, and a box of matches. Tip: use rubbing alcohol because gas or diesel fuels make black smoke and smell like crap. |

Hey there
|
Check with your local fire department first before you give it a go. Most towns have "burning permits" for free, but they wont issue them if it's too windy or the conditions are wrong. If you don't have a proper burning receptacle (wood stove, fireplace, etc), don't do it inside.
You could get a metal container and try to burn them outside. Don't try doing it in the house, you'll either catch something on fire, set off smoke detectors, or worse.... And make sure you have a hose with running water and/or fire extinguisher around. |

just find a dumpster somewhere is the hood, dress to "impress", and just put it all there and set the fire up. hang around for a while, to make sure its going down...
wouldnt hurt to make couple of local friends. in this case it is very not likely that any law department will come close to it.
i would recommend Brooklin, nobody cares there what you do and where. |

put them in the tub and mash them up when soggy. that will not only remove the ink but make them quite illegible. then take the soggy mass squish the water out and recycle. Otherwise find someone with a burning permit, or get one yourself and make a fire where you are legally able to do so... safely of course. Or find someone with a farm/property that has the ability to have a bon fire.
or shred it up (you can buy cheap shredders that shred into little diamond bits) and put it in a compost pile. |
