I want to get married to a woman from another country and file a Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. I am fully-disabled and live on social security disability. I have about 20,000 in my pension. I can easily convert it to cash. Will the Homeland Security accept my pension as an asset? Thank you.

Doubtful. It's not a continuous source of income, and were you to live off of it...it wouldn't last that long. Best advice: keep trying to find a co-sponsor....or have her try to be sponsored by an employer. |
