I have to take my biometrics for immigration again after 7 months why?

my dad is getting me legal and i took my biometrics( picture and fingerprints). i took them 7 months ago and after that i only got my work permit and today i received an appointment to take my biometrics again.does anyone know why?

they have to make sure you're still the same person

It may be because they've lost your biometrics. Or it may be because they need them for another application.

You have to do biometrics for each application. You did them for your work permit and you'll need them done again if you have an application for permanent residency.
