I lived OR from middle school to high school, after freshman i went abroad to school. (abroad schooling for 5 years) Now i am back , i decided to live in WA. So am i a residence of OR or WA ? Cause i need to go back to school , becoming a residence of WA or not can make a difference. I know it's a dumb question because of the family issue, I need to do everything myself, since i was not in the states there are a lot of stuff i need to learn, so i would be very thankful if anyone can answer my question.

According to the University of Washington website
"To be classified or reclassified as residents, for tuition and fee purposes, students must establish a bona fide domicile in the state of Washington primarily for purposes other than education for the period of one year immediately prior to classification as residents."
Which means you have to be living in Washington State as a non-student for at least 1 year prior to starting your education to be considered a state resident

you are supposed to move to a state and before you've been there for 10 days you could even receive a fine if you get pulled over by a cop and you haven't changed your address. Schools take about 6 months to give discounted tuition to residents of the state. |

You are usually considered a resident of a state after you have lived in it for a certain period of time. In the case of schools, you usually have to live in the state for 6 months to a year before receiving discounted tuition. |
