I like to know how can i have someone come to usa and live with me without a job, but look for work?

The minimum for a job is the infamous Green Card. They have a lottery where they give away 5,000 such Green Cards each year. If they are from Western Europe they can stay 90 days as a tourist. A Spouse Visa takes other requirements. An outright immigration takes several years. The laws punishing illegal hiring are changing as we get ready for the next election, so no telling whether someone will hire your friend and risk the penalties.

Illegal house cleaners have brought down several politicians.

The preference seems to be for au pairs and health care workers for awarding a "regular" (not lottery) Green Card.

I think it's wonderful that you like our country so well you want your friends to join you. HOWEVER, what has American citizens so up-in-arms about immigrants is NOT that they come to our country BUT that they do so illegally. To do so legally means they let our government know they're in our country - meaning to register their status here with the Department of Immigration (which means paperwork) - rather than sneaking in like a thief in the night and stealing from its people.

Perhaps those from other countries don't realize why residing and working in the United States WITHOUT registering their presence is a criminal offense. To try to make it simple to understand why it's criminal and why we feel these people are stealing from us:

1 - They don't pay taxes, which ALL law-abiding working citizens do. Do you know what becomes of that tax money? It pays for expenses within every community within every city within every state within our country which includes - in part - our law enforcement and justice system, military protection, road maintenance, trash pickup, mail delivery, and the education of our children. It also provides food, shelter, and medical care to the poor. It makes medical and scientific discoveries possible. These are only a few examples of our "tax dollars at work."

2 - They don't fight for our rights and freedom that men and women in our military do every day. And do you know why they don't? Because they can't. Because our military is very proud and very picky about who they allow into their corps. Did you know that individuals who have broken the law are not allowed to serve in our military? And individuals in America illegally are breaking the law.

Unfortunately, those people who don't contribute by either paying for, or participating in, still get to enjoy all the benefits we do, that we pay for dearly - in many instances with the lives of our parents, our siblings, our mates, our children.

I realize this isn't the easy answer you were looking for, but I hope it explains why you need to come into our country honestly and legally. All that paperwork is for a very good reason, and if you or people from other countries don't like it, go to Russia or China or Timbucktoo where you and they will find the requirements just as, or more, difficult; and the penalties for ignoring the laws of that country dealt with much more severely.

You can find a person, who is a US citizen and ask that person go back to the country to marry your friend, then your friend and the new husband could come here. Or she/him could apply a visa. Remember visa only for temporarly, but marriage can be permanent.

I say let them because everyone falls short and things happen and the come to the usa to get a better life for themselves and live like they never lived before. If a person like that nevedr been in trouble with the law and tring and you know they got what it take to find a job then go for it alot can come out of it.

The only non-citizens who can come to the USA and look for work as of right and without any visa are:
-- First Canadians and Canadian Inuit (Jay Treaty, 1794)
-- Belau (Palau) and certain non-citizen Pacific Islanders whose countries were formerly Micronesia trust territories.

Everybody else has to get a visa and be an immediate relative of a US citizen (or, with longer waiting lists, permanent residents), foreign diplomats, diversity lottery winner. Or satisfy more difficult special skill or other requirements. Ministers of religion and journalists are the easiest workarounds. They seem to get visas right away.

They can't look for a job without a work visa. And you can't bring someone into your home from another country like you can pick up a stray dog from the street.

The US is no different than any other country when it comes to resident visas. You will not be able to legally have your friend come and look for work, without a green card. If he comes anyway, and you help him, you technically would be violating the law, as would he.
Remember, its not just the USA. Mexico complains bitterly about our deportation policies. However what you never hear, is that if you go to Mexico as a US citizen, get a job without a permit, then Mexican laws call for immediate deportation of you, and a large fine for your employer.

You could get into some serious legal problems. Your friend could get a toursit visa and interview for work but would have to return to the country of origin to apply for a work visa.

it depends on thier country of origin. Some countries such as the UK fall under the visa waiver program and the person can stay up to six months with just thier passport alone. anything after that and they would have to file for a visa. Just depends on thier country of origin.
