No you need to be a citizen to do all that ...as a resident only you can't do anything. |

Complete and sign Form 40SP Sponsorship for a partner to migrate to Australia, and send it to the applicant for filing.
Your foreigner fiancee will have to apply for a Prospective Marriage Visa at the Australian Embassy in her country. That visa will allow her to come to Australia and marry you within 9 months of visa grant. She can then stay after the marriage and adjust her status to a spouse visa. |

I don't know about Australia but it is similar to here.
To get an embassy to issue a Visa for visits of young women are rather rare. Especially to the US.
If you have visited her, I would recommend a Fiancees Visa, which is usually good for about 90 days. Then they have to get a regular one if married. If not they go back.
On a visit Visa, generally if you get married they have to go back and apply for a Visa. They are not allowed to stay in country.
As far as her parents, if she is an adult it really doesn't matter what they think other than you are going to have issues with them for the rest of your life. If she is not an adult you can't get married without their permission.
I am talking about US Law, but it is usually quite close to other countries laws. |

I am also a permanent reident and have recently gotten my Canadian girlfriend a de facto visa. You will need to povide evidence of a continuous & intimate relationship from the minimum last 12 months, and you will need to have lived together for that time, or at least most of it (and provide compelling reasons why you were separated for the rest). Such evidence will be things like shared utility bills, rent agreements, joint bank accounts, photos, testimony from friends & relatives, joint loans, credit cards etc etc. Anything to show that you have been in a close relationship for over a year. If you can't provide that evidence, she won't get a de facto visa, it's that simple. Oh, and be prepared to fork out $2100 too.
Good luck |

There is a great deal more to getting a spouse visa for Australia than simply applying for one, but as a PR, you are able to apply and don't need to be a citizen.
You must prove that your relationship is genuine and continuing and enquiries can and probably will be made where she has been living. It is also very difficult and more expensive if she comes to Australia on a tourist visa and then applies for a spouse visa. Tourist visas are designed for people to come here on a holiday and she would be misusing the visa.
You would be better advised to apply for a prospective marriage visa while she is still in India. When it is granted, she can then travel to Australia and marry you within 9 months of the visa grant date.
The alternatives are explained in the following Partner Migration booklet. Pay particular information to the evidence requirements on page 39:
