if your mom-in-law is not a US citizen, u need to sponsor her, and apply for visitors' visa. ur wife can also sponsor her mom, given that she has a valid visa status or EAD or something.

No. Only your wife can sponsor her mother and your wife must be a US citizen in order to do it.

MadMan
You can do neither as being an in-law does not count for immigration. If you want her to stay permanently in the US, your wife will need to be a citizen. As for a vacation, US immigration does ot care about invitations. The person applying for the visa needs to apply and prove that they are not a risk of overstaying.

When I wanted my mother to visit me coz I had a baby last year. USCIS told me that my mother had to apply at the US embassy in her home country for a visit visa. She did and they approved her for 5 years.

I don't think you can sponsor her as she is not your parent. Your wife will have to be the one to sponsor her, but she needs to become a permanent resident first. It would take 4-5 years and prove her relationship with her mother and prove financial status for her support.

Good luck!!!

Just do it like everyone else is...sneak her across the U.S. - Mexican border. We won't tell.

I'm not sure if you can sponser your mother in law..and if you can it will take a VERY long time. The fastest sponsorship is for spouses and I'm not sure if parents or siblings come next. My mom sent in sponsership papers for my aunties and they said the waiting list was about 10 years. We have about 3-4 years left on that wait time. I would assume a mother in law would take longer. Check the INS website.

Im sure you can do both of them...

would she want sponsorship for citizenship? Do either- it's a rare person that wants an in-law to come and stay with them LOL!!
