How long you may get the visa (90 days maximum) depends on your itinerary, the validation of a travel insurance and the proof of sufficient funds. The Netherlands ask for having £30 per day, Italy ~ £30-35, France - £40, Spain - £45, Germany - £55, Switzerland £70.
You should apply for the visa in the country of your mainly stay or the one you enter first when staying same time per country.
The visa fee is Euro 60 to be paid in the currency of the applying country (£55.56). |

Since you are an International Students currently studying in UK then you must have a legal residency status that will make you eligible to apply for a Schengen states visa.
European embassies in the UK generally only accept applications from people who are resident in the UK (living here legally for longer than six months).

The basic rule I heard is that you go to the embassy of the country that you will first arrive in with your Shengen Visa.
So, if you plan to travel to Europe and will first arrive in France,then apply through the French Embassy. |

The longest length of stay on a Schengen visa is 180 days in a 6 month period. Spain is the easiest country for which to apply. |
