i moved to australia a year ago. to sydney from the caribbean, so it was drastic change for me in terms of culture and climate.
Adjustments were dealing with people who are not as friendly as one might expect. But all in all it was a great move. the city is beautiful and the standard of living can't be beat. |

I don't think there are many to be honest. Some I can think of are:
Geographically isolated - long flights to travel elsewhere
Less career opportunities in some cases (but only for the highest fliers) due to our smaller population
Weather can be hot, too hot for some, and floods, droughts and bushfires
I have seen some Americans say that there are not enough huge shops here, but to be honest I like it that way.
That's all I can think of. Australia's great in my opinion.
But it's not easy to move here, you need a skill in demand in Australia. |

Having to change all your money, your job, your health care
Getting a disease that is foreign to Australia
Becoming homesick
...and so on... |

It's fcking hot there.
But the cities have great night life, and there's a lot of beautiful places and wildlife there.
I loved being there :( |
