no, at age 18 your passport becomes your property. |

It's not that hard to get a passport --when your 18 and ready to go as you say, ask any travel agency to help you. Or just apply yourself
Get copies of your Birth Certificate too.
You can get copies of anything that applies to YOU
You can get a duplicate DL even
the wait shouldn't be long--many travel at the spur of the monument. A few weeks to have all you need. Unless you have citizenship problems or something like that.
If your not sure how to do these things--look on the web. Not hard at all
I would think anyone blocking you from obtaining those (like putting on a fraud alert-etc.) could get in trouble if you so desired.
What is your hurry if your parents are so against it I wonder. Perhaps a better solution would to wait a bit too.Would a half a year or more make that much difference?

Do you plan on living back in your parents' home after your travels with them paying for your upkeep and education?
After you are 18, your papers should be turned over to you. However, if you would be back with your parents, you do need to be appreciative of their feelings. They may turn down your request to live with them. |

Nope.
You are an adult. It is illegal for them to do that. |

Once you've turned 18, If the rents dont turn over your passport, you have 2 options. You can file a complaint with your local police agency for a stolen passport; or you can start the process for a new passport. Thiss could take much longer.
Me? I'd demand my passport from my parents, and if not delivered...I'd call the cops and report a stolen passport. |

once you turn 18 join the military then you wont need a passport.
Otherwise you could jest apply for a lost passport. |

no, at the age of eighteen you are an adult which means you can make your own decisions legal and otherwise. |
