If AMNESTY is for those that are here and in good standing?

LMAO, I saw that question yesterday that said they kill 25 people every day.Anyways, you have a good point.I never thought about it,but you're absolutely correct.They shouldn't have anything to worry about.They believe all illegal immigrants are horrible criminals who are constantly breaking the law.If that was true they wouldn't be granted amnesty.So if they believe the BS that comes out of their own mouths,then they need to shut up and quit whining because they have nothing to worry about.

Nobody has ever said that illegals commit ALL the crime in the US! So that is yet ANOTHER exaggeration on your point - imagine that!!

How would anybody determine which illegals are "in good standing"?? What is that criteria????? Do you think that our government or any official would check to see if EVERY illegal has a police record??? Do you know how many man-hours that would take considering that there are 20 million illegals here???? What if an illegal did commit a crime and used a fake name??? How would they catch that????

People are against amnesty for several reasons. The most important is that MILLIONS of immigrants came here through the NORMAL and LEGAL process!!!! Was it easy for them?? No, but they still managed to do so!!!!

Even if illegals did commit all the crime in the US, I don't believe that our government would deny Amnesty just based on their criminal record. Many officials just want "the votes". So the more people that can vote for a particular candidate the better (as far as the politician is concerned.)

1) Amnesty is the forgiveness of past crimes NOT rewarding a criminal for his crimes. To be amnesty the criminal would have to return to their country of origin first. Short of this it is rewarding criminals for being criminals! What next? A new house for murder? Molest a child and get what? Would there be a sliding scale depending on age? Rape = a new car?
2)The pro-criminals amnesty would be like giving a child to molest to a child molester, ammo to a murderer, etc.
3)99% of illegal aliens entered the US illegally! 65% without inspection (a federal crime) and 34% by misrepresentation of material facts or just plain fraud (also a federal crime).
4)99% of illegal aliens commit a felony within 30 days of their immigration crime!

Now, how is someone who is here illegally "in good standing". What an oxymoron. By definition, all illegal aliens are law breakers to one degree or another and NOT IN GOOD STANDING. Communities that hide illegal aliens are a danger to the U.S., first, because it shows that they are NOT even trying to assimilate to U.S. culture which respects the law, and second, because they're actively assisting people who are breaking the laws on a range of crimes from ID theft to murder and possibly even to terrorism, whether they intend to or not. (Some of the 9/11 terrorists were able to get Virginia driver's licenses with the assistance of illegal aliens because at that time, all that was needed was to have someone with a Virginia license, even an illegal alien, vouch for you.)

We don't have to "try so hard" to get people to be against amnesty. Most Americans are, if you ask them. The trick is getting them to put their money where their mouth is and to take action. It's an old problem in social action--those with the most to gain such as pro-amnesty types are typically the most focused, most organized, and best funded. Most Americans have other interests that they rank more important than illegal immigration, such as the economy and healthcare, and may not recognize the extent to which illegal immigration affects these. If nothing else, this recession is helping many Americans to realize that the arguments about Americans not being "willing" to do certain jobs are nonsensical and that the claims we "need immigrants" are baseless.

Amnesty should never have been given back in the 80's. All it did was encourage more people to cross into this country illegally. If it's granted again, it will have the same effect and then in another 20 years amnesty will be granted again. We need to break this cycle before it begins and enforce our border laws. Sorry I have no sympathy for illegals.

There will be NO Amnesty for those that are here because they are NOT in "good standing" i.e. they broke the law and have not left the United States. We should not be rewarding those who knowingly violate the law every day their in this country.

Hey Marble, Like many here I think your an idiot. Bouncing around trying to make baseless claims in favor of illegal immigrants is like trying to justify crapping in your kitchen. Facts are facts, in the economic down turn, all an amnesty would do is add more people to the already growing unemployment lines, and vastly increase the dependents on our over burdened social services. Also, it would encourage more illegal migration.
All this has been proved in the past by amnesty '86. You go ahead and deny the truth all you want, we will no longer except our government repeating it's mistakes. When amnesty fails to pass AGAIN, please send me your home address, I would like to personally convey my condolences.

no illegal is in good standing, especially not with the American citizens. Why try so hard, because many still do not know these facts. they believe the boo hoo stories some like to portray, it is a fact that more people die at the hands of these people daily, than do in the war, it is a fact they cost us more in billions than the measly little they put into the system. It is a fact that gang violence and illegals are usually involved and have become a problem in the U.S. Why should citizens not know the facts rather than believe the hype.

The answer is very simple. We know that the gov WILL NOT be able to investigate ALL these people. They will not even attempt to, they will take the illegal aliens word for it.
So it will prove or accomplish nothing as far as "good standing" goes.

not all illegal people are bad. yes, they broke the law by coming here illegally; but tell me of one person who does not have a family member who came here illegally. we can go back as far as 1815, since then we had immigrants. not all are hispanics you have irish,british and germans etc.

i think there will be an amnesty. but i think it will be limited and people will have to meet certain standards. i mean the usa can not legalizes all immigrants. if they did well some people would be upset e.g. people who hire illegals to work for them & pay them (illegals) less. and i bet these people are the anti-illegal ones!

if i was to give illegals amnesty i would. but i would change some laws. like you can not get food stamps. you can get like children's chip but you have to pay half of the cost etc.
