If Canada paid you three times as much as your US job, would you work there illegally? Why or why not?

This is a hypothetical question. Obviously Canada doesn't pay three times as much. Still, if they did, would you go work there illegally? Assume it's just as easy to get into Canada and find a job as it is for Mexicans to come the US. Don't forget to say why you would or wouldn't! That's the interesting part! Thanks for answering!

You don't think the statistics would be the same if the roles were reversed? You think "an understanding of law" or "love of country" would truely prevent people from making 3 times their salary? Especially with all the other benefits involved? Education, health insurance, etc. 40% isn't even half. Sure is close though, huh?

NO, if the pay is three times, cost of living would be four times as great. It is at least that much between Mexico and the US. Had 40 illegals living in one small mobile home in my town recently.

No, I am a very moral and honest person. I could not morally go into Canada illegally for this purpose. If I wanted to, I would legally apply to enter Canada to work. Otherwise, I would just do the best I could with what I have here in the States. I would also take heart in that I was doing my best for me, my family, and my kids. Furthermore, I would be showing my kids what is morally right!!!!!!! And they would grow up with good moral standards.

No. I live in a desert and last time I went to Canada I froze the better part of my bottom off. I get great benefits at my job and my bosses love me so I get away with a bunch of crap.

And, I am not too keen on the idea that dogs and cats could get a CT scan or MRI quicker than I could in a emergency situation.

If I needed work and was aware of this possible, I would make every effort to cross the border legally and engage in work.
I would do this because it would increase my chances of upward mobility, having a better chance in life to do as I wished ideally.

I must say, that if I knew I could go up illegally, and everything would be handed to me, that I would pay less or no taxes, my children if I were willing to subject them to that would get free educations and the general family would receive free healthcare, it would be hard to no break the law and just sneak in and "steal" so to speak, all I could.

But in fact, as I have not been so "desperate" I really can't imagine myself breaking the law for this. Certainly not with my family. How could you look them in the eyes and tell them to obey the law, when I was breaking it myself?

I think this is really the problem here. Many who come here don't have a good understanding of law and order, are not educated and think that if you steal and can get away with it ...it's OK.

Uh right...try that up ther eand see where it gets you. Right now the Canadian dollar is about at par with the American one. That means that arguably there might be some benefit to some Americans to run up there and try to work. Go ahead and see how tha towrks out in Canada and see how their medical system would work for you. Basically IF through some miracle you could find a job illegally there...the cops would be on your butt in no time and you'd be fined and deported quickly. You see they are going through their own illegal immigration crisis right now. The Canadian government was lying to their own people (sound familiar) and got caught. The punishments are being doled out severaly right now.
