Well it depends... We are here today taught by the experience of our grandparents that idolizing a man can cause the world to enter a war! If someone would appear now and try to turn people against each other, neighbor on neighbor, brother on brother it would cause an instant response from UN or NATO, as it had happened here when NATO bombed Serbia (that decision is doubtful, but it had happened and that's a fact)...
But if there wasn't the WWII and this would be the first time for a menace as Hitler to appear, my opinion is that people wouldn't act any different, we aren't that much smarter than our ancestors we just have their experience to learn from...
Thanks for that grandad... |

If he also had his promo team as well. There are a number of social/cultural worries that could be taken advantage of.
A few years ago we saw a large rise in votes for more right-wing political parties in Europe. Why?
Identity and monetary crisis provide perfect petri-dishes for such germs to evolve. |

Same people who vote for USA president and England prime minster will vote for Hitler They killed more people than he did |

Probably not. He appealed largely to the common man's plight during the depression. |

These political types are pretty much cut from the same cloth IMO. If Hitler was around today, he wouldn't be having mass rallys or goosestepping around, he'd be wearing a suit and talking about 'consensus'. |

Oh! yes he would but on the basis of fear to support this answer think of the countries that are ruled by the military though the laws are usually so cruel, the people normally have no choice they just have to do what has been layed down least they loose their lives |

Satanic Demonic Prometheus

no, he would only have 1 percent of followers |

Well, Hitler came to power cause Germany was in shambles after WWI and the people liked him cause he made Germany powerful again. If you are asking if a person like Hitler came to power would he be popular then just look around at all the nations that are in poverty, they are rip for the picking for a bigot to take command of. All they have to do is play the right political cards. Iran's Pres is kinda like him. He preaches hate and so do the terrorists. I think that the war on terro is WWIII. |

who knows, he used propaganda and the people voted for him...people today are obviously still susceptible to it. |

depends on how powerful he got I guess. |

Yes. Understand that Hitler's original appeal lay in getting Germany out of their depression. There are plenty of nations looking to rebuild/be what they once were. He wasn't stupid, he knew what people wanted. They voted for him. |

Hitler is alive and well and is the President of Iran. |

Yes.... He was a master of manipulation. I see no evidence of people being any more intelligent today then they were then. |

Sadly, yes. Think about all the Arian Nation groups out there now that follow his ways. There are enough nut jobs out there to follow anyone. |

Probably NOT!!
As a GERMAN I do not "appreciate" that someone is asking a history question of this kind. I have been born, raised in
Germany and surely do not want to see something like that happening again.
All dictatorship is WROONG!! |

Course he would. George Bush is around and he's got the whole American nation following him and of course Tony and his gang. |

You always manage some real good questions... boy that's a good one... with the same ideals and views, probably not... the world is more tolerant. |

Well I doubt he had a lot of followers, probably a lot of people that were afraid of being kneecapped by the gestapo. He wouldn't though I don't think, Germany is far more democratically minded and far right madmen aren't exactly raging in most democratically advanced European nations. Of course they still exist, and they have their followers but I don't think its even concievable in modern day Germany. |

Yes because the people in the world are more lost than ever, and as evil as Hitler was he had great intelligence, which is hard to find these days, and much of the world is snowed by propaganda and brainwashing by less intelligent people and sources. So sadly, yes I believe he would have as many or MORE followers. Communication has gotten much more advanced. |
