Down. . .
It will do nothing but increase the number coming into this nation illegally. When they were given amnesty in the 1980's, and the promise of being tougher on illegal immigration was given to the US citizens, it was supposed to slow down/stop illegal immigration.
How did that work? |

Thumbs down, there are people who are trying to immigrate here the legal way. Why should those people get to go first. The ones who are trying legally, have better records. They don't have a record of crime or thievery. |

Thumbs down. Why do we need anymore citizens in this country anyway? Are we running out? Why don't we spend our time and money taking care of our own, health care, education, homeless, starving and on and on and on. |

It will get my efforts to get my states' Senators and Congressmen who would vote for amnesty out of office in their next election bid. I am talking contributions to their opponents' campaigns and volunteering my time to assist in those campaigns.
I won't sit back and twiddle my thumbs but will continue frequent contacts with them in opposition to the attempts to sneak legislation to benefit illegal aliens. One Senator has completely reversed his position to opposition to amnesty. The other is looking to lose her Senate seat if she continues in such a sympathetic position to illegals. Fortunately, my Congressman is solidly against amnesty. |

Amnesty should be based on a case by case, or country by country case. For example, citizens under the Mogabe Govt. may be granted amnesty to enter the country. Or individuals should be judges on a case by case basis. |

TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP!
Our economy will really crash if this does not happen and they are deported. More and more farms are going to move to mexico, more US companies will crumble with out them, Social Security and Medicare will not survive with out the taxes they pay every year.
This is an article from ARIZONA! Hmmmm! aren't there a big number of illegals there?
http://media.wildcat.arizona.edu/media/storage/paper997/news/2007/04/10/Opinions/Dollars.And.Sense.Economy.Native.Workers.Benefit.From.Immigrant.Work-2831841.shtml
Dollars and sense: Economy, native workers benefit from immigrant work
In late February, Dr. Giovanni Peri, a University of California, Davis, economist, published a report that cuts against the typical immigration grain. By analyzing census data in California (home to 30 percent of foreign-born workers in the U.S.), Peri concluded that immigrants actually boost the wages of native workers.
It's already known that illegal immigrants inject some $7 billion a year into the Social Security trust, but now the IRS is estimating that ITIN filers have contributed $50 billion in taxes.
http://blogs.chron.com/immigration/archives/2008/05/post_128.html
If the 8.1 million undocumented immigrants who cut lawns, bus tables and perform other jobs disappeared overnight, the nation's economy would lose nearly $1.8 trillion in annual spending.
Texas, the second-hardest-hit state after California, would lose 1.2 million undocumented workers and $220.7 billion in expenditures. |

I don't mind giving amnesty to the ones who are already here, because it would be a immoral and only a cruel human being would force someone to go back to third world country when they already are hard working and have a family to provide for.
But if they do make them citizens, they need to get off their butts and enforce the border policy and build a wall. |
