yes, how interesting. I've never thought of it that way. I think they will say "if they do grant amnesty, then I will hate it, but it does not make me a criminal" because they all seem to hate the so-called (unfairly) anchor baby law. and that is our law, saying that they are our fellow citizens! |

If the Government votes for Amnesty, it is the duty of the people, as stated in the Declaration of Independence, to remove said government as the government no longer looks after the welfare of the citizenry.
I hate to join the crowd calling for civil war, but considering how strongly biased the country is against amnesty, I can very much see it happening.
If war comes, I will fight the corrupt government and work to re-establish the country as it should be. America for the Americans. |

The issue may be a Demand side equation. If we dry up the demand for undocumented labor then the equation equalizes. I still think that there are issues in Mexico, not caused by the Drug demand in the US, that is causing the flow of Hispanics to the North. Do these people really want to be here. |

I don't have much faith in Congress right now, I am glad you seem so sure they will do the right thing. I just want the voting to take place, laws to be written, and change to come so that all of these people will get a chance to live in this country. I am so tired of the daily tirades against PEOPLE who want a better life. I hope you can see into the future Alberto, and I hope this whole situation will be settled once and for all. |

I can't say that I am against the Guess Worker program or for it. I think it needs a much better definition than what is being offered.
A Guess Worker program should NOT PERMIT bringing in of brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, etc.
A Guess Worker program should NOT LEAD to automatic citizenship
A Guess Worker program should NOT PERMIT "anchor babies".
A Guess Worker program needs to have expiriation dates.
It is exactly what it is named "GUESS" Worker.

wtf does the iraq war have to do with it buddy? nothing. i hate bush as much as the next person but one of the big reasons i do is because of his pro eventual amnesty stand. any poll would tell you 90% of americans dont think citizenship should be handed away. after all, what would the point of legal immigration be? i think its funny u actually think the bill will pass. americans are voting you know. and illegals cant vote. yeah im against the iraq war, so what? i have enough common sense to know that amnesty cant and wont happen. i suggest hoping mexico changes some things before you start hoping america does. its the only way anything will work. i hope you liked your lesson. |

no. it also says in the consitution, that when the government becomes corrupt, you should over throw it, and start a new. Also, when and if that happens, GOD FORBIDE, it will tell me that our governmnet has sold out to the illegals...& thus becoming an ILLEGAL GOVERNING BODY. |

Are you implying that illegal Mexicans even know the meaning of the word "amnesty"?
To me, any person who can understand what their legal rights are, should be perfectly capable of going through correct process to become a citizen. There is no need for amnesty. |

When amnesty is accepted and it probably will be then we will have to accept it because it will be the new law. I think it's pathetic that our Congress is ignoring the laws and will give amnesty to the thousands of criminals currently walking our streets. |

I guess many of you were too young to remember but Amnesty already happened once before, I think it was in 1986. There was no civil war or rebellion then.
Btw and I am not pro- amnesty, just stating facts. |

There will be no ILLEGAL ALIEN amnesty,it's a dead issue. The American people have for once stood up for themselves and every politician knows that a vote for amnesty for criminal trespassers is as good as resigning from congress in most districts. So don't worry about it,and even if(notice IF) it did happen the ILLEGALS have created so much anger in this country that they are on the verge of creating real violence,do you really think amnesty for 12 million Criminal Aliens is going to help the situation become better. It can only make it worse,if the Hispanic community wanted to create hatred in other parts of the community they couldn't have planned it better. |
