If a person has dual citizen ship does that mean the children will as well?

I was just wondering because Tiger Woods has dual citizen ship(American and Thailand) his children were born in American and their mother in Sweden. Does that mean the children will have triple dual citizen ship? Renee Zellweger has triple citizen ship how does that work?

generally citizenship of as country is NOT passed down to the second generation if that second generation is not born in the country.

In the case of tiger woods - he is american and thai but he was not born in thailand. his kid was not born in thailand either so the kid gets american and swedish citizenships, but not thai since it cannot be passed down to the second generation.

in my sons case, I am from new Zealand. My son was born in canada and he has both Canadian and kiwi passports.
BUT if he has children born in Canada, my grandchildren will NOT be eligible to be kiwi citizens unless (and ONLY unless) my son lives in NZ for 3 years (before he has children) and applies for a grant of citizenship which will allow him to pass his Kiwi citizenship down to his kids if they are born in Canada.

It depends on the laws of the countries in question. If one of your parents is a citizen of some foreign country, you can typically get citizenship automatically by filling out some forms, but you do have to actually fill out those forms. My mom is a citizen of Finland, but I've always been a U.S. citizen and never filled out the forms to gain citizenship of Finland as well. However, my brother has triple citizenship - of the U.S., Finland, and New Zealand (where he lived for several years).

No, because being a dual citizen is only personal to the person having dual citizenship. It is not transmissible. So, in this case, the citizenship of the children will depend on what principle of his/ her country follows. There are two principles of citizenship. First, Jus soli which means a person is a citizen of the country where he is born. (USA follows jus soli). Second, Jus sanguinis (citizenship by blood) which means that a person follows the citizenship of his/her parents.
