If the kid is born in the US, he will have US citizenship.
When you get back to your native country, also get him citizenship there. |

it would be American for sure. this is something that people have done for many years now. it's called vacation birth. my grandparents did it with my mother so that she would be an American citizen. in the case of Mexico, a baby born in the USA can still have their Mexican citizenship as well. kinda the best of both worlds (an child that can buy land work and have all the rights of both con tries.) that a Mexican parent can give their child. not to mention it ends up making it easier for the parents to get papers. |

According to the Wong Kim Ark rule, any non-resident child who gets a birth certificate on US soil is a US citizen, unless they are the children of diplomatic staff from another nation. |

If a child is born in America, the child CAN be an American citizen, however, not all countries allow dual citizenship. So, if you were from the UK, had a baby here and wanted the baby to be American, you would need to give up your child's British citizenship, however the UK and any number of other countries might not allow the mother to make that decision for a minor. You need to check with your consulate.

With the DUMB law that we have, it would be a US citizen. But, what would a 9 month pregnant woman doing visiting the US? |

The poor baby would have to be handed to the authorities until such an age in which it could determine its own citizenship...
It is horrible, they keep them in cages, and feed them through tubes, they can't even turn around in the cage... They can't even grow feathers...
Please if you are having a baby... think of this... |
