yes, i dont understand why black people are called african americans when most of them were born in the united states and have never been to africa, i'm german and irish, but i'm not called a german american or an irish american, because i was born and raised here, so if they are born in africa, they would be an african american |

African american always refers to some one with dark skin.
Charlize Theron is French & German, Born in south africa but speaks Afrikaans as her first language, english as her second.
