If illegals are just having babies for free & abusing our healthcare system....?

why do I keep seeing these "clinicas" & "clinicas de mama" pop up on every corner? For those of you with no understanding of Spanish that means doctors & gynecologists - clinics. How are these privately owned businesses not only surviving but THRIVING to the point that there are more & more of them being built? It seems the belief of the popular majority that all illegals are using hospitals & not paying or somehow tapping into government subsidized healthcare & draining our resources yet the clinicas require up-front payment and pregnant women actually set up a payment plan and make payments on giving birth - usually to the tune of about $7,000. I know several who have done just that.

So which is it? The illegals are abusing our own healthcare system or they are building more clinicas & the illegals are going there & paying for their own healthcare?

How do you think they are able to get all of these government programs with no SSN? How do you think they qualify? You guys don't know what you're talking about. Illegals are not eligible for these programs even when they DO pay taxes. Yes, that's my point, the clinicas ARE popping up like weeds because illegals are using them for healthcare. They are privately owned by Spanish-speaking doctors. Yes, I do know how much they charge because I know people who have used them.

Oh wow, I lived in El Paso for so many years and I don't think someone will pay thousands of dollars to a "coyote" just to have babies for free. Everyone talks and complains of how illegals are abusing our system, and all of a sudden their knowledge and expertise on law comes out, but they immediately become ignorant and stu**d when Americans abuse these so called illegals. My uncles have worked here for years, paid taxes and now they can't collect a single penny from Social Security because they're not residents. Millions of illegals are working under hazardous conditions earning minimun wage and are not protected. Where's your expertiseon law, what do you call this? It's ok for Americans to abuse?

The illegals ARE abusing our healthcare system. One of my illegal cousins is on the WIC program which isnÂ´t costing her a dime. The illegals who go to these "clÃnicas" are on Medicaid and therefore are not paying for their own healthcare.

It's called EMERGENCY ROOMS. The ERs can't turn anybody away so when the illegal alien criminals have a cold they go to the ERs and the taxpayer pays for it. That's how they are destroying our health care system. The ERs can't afford to stay open because they loose money every time an illegal alien criminal comes in.

That's where most have their babies too. Last November, my daughter had a baby. She was all set to go to the hospital near their home (about 10 minutes.) They had to drive about 45 minutes because the local hospital didn't have any beds - the illegal alien criminals!

Sure there are these little clinics but you can't HONESTLY think that most of the illegal alien criminals are paying for their own medical care! THEY AREN'T!!!

I seriously doubt they are paying for their own healthcare. I believe the clinics are getting funding from "pro Ilegal" politicians, or other U.S. Government agencies. I know for sure President Bush isn't supporting them. It makes me mad, because there are so many Americans in need and there's no help out there.

Trust me, the people owning those clinics are billing us taxpayers. IF any more is exchanging hands between the illegals and the 'clinicas' it is probably due to the fact that when the baby is delivered it automatically becomes a US citizen. I know alot of people who come to this country and have a baby as this more or less cements their ties here. I think it's too late for this US of A as our politicians have sold us a bill of goods. and yet, we keep electing those who wish to serve themselves only to our taxdollars.

They get medi-cal and the gov pays for it. Plain and simple. If they're here ilegally and pregnant (probably not working) they get welfare, food stamps, medi-cal and WIC and they're set! They use the system to their advantage. They don't pay for it. Clinics are a dime a dozen in Los Angeles. They pop up like weeds.

We have more LEGAL immigrants from Mexico than from any other country. Perhaps they are the ones using the clinics.

They get SSNs through identity theft. A family member had her ID stolen by an illegal. There are many ways that they obtain people's SSNs.

My aunt is a health insurance investigator, and one thing that she has been busy dealing with is the clinica "weeds" that you are referring to. Most are often involved in insurance scams. The doctors make false claims for services not rendered, even paying illegals thousands of dollars to partake in bogus surgeries that are later billed to health insurance providers.

I know you are looking for innocence, but really you are talking about people who were born and raised in a corrupt society, who have and are exploiting the gaping holes in the US legal system, and this includes healthcare.

We live in El Paso Tx, population 780,000 or so, we are 3 miles from the mexican border, I think out of 780,000 people here, 700000 are illegal. They do breed like bunnies it is crazy, no one speak english here, all the hospitals cater to illegals, they are all on food stamps, welfare, and get free housing. Even the teenage girls are having babies, just to get benefits here, they cater to each other so bad, that I'm moving, it's like living in a foreign country. you cant go to the emergency room because everyone from mexico is there., AND THEY DON'T PAY ONE FREAKIN PENNY

In Mexico, a doctor charges about between $ 500-$700 for delivery, so I don't know why they would pay $7000 to have a baby in California. I do know they don't pay a dime... it's gratis because of Medi-Cal.

An Illegal aliens uses fraud a fake SS# is simple to obtain these clinics are not hospitals they do not have the same staff,the same equipment,the same machines for x-rays,ct's,ultrasounds, Clinics are nothing more than band aide stations. Everyone who speaks Spanish isn't an illegal. My wife has had 3 babies for free. We go to hospitals, not clinics. Hospitals have better care.
