The country wouldn't fall apart but there is still a place for immigration in this country. We just need everyone to be paying taxes etc. The main issue is that this country offers free health care and education to illegal immigrants.

It is just an excuse illegals use to be here, Prior to 1965 when the disastrous Immigration Bill was passed, there was very little immigration. In fact, between 1925 and 1965, there was even a period of net emigration out of the United States. During this time, our grass was getting cut, our meat was being packed, our children were being watched and our houses were being cleaned. The idea that somehow we suddenly can't run a country without an unlimited supply of foreigners is absurd.

Those in favor of foreign labor are corporations who are addicted to cheap labor. They are the ones who are benefiting. But their benefit comes at the American tax payer's expense when you consider that the American tax payer is virtually subsidizing the labor costs of the greedy corporations by supplying the illegal foreign workers and their families with welfare, free education, free medical, WICs, housing assistance, etc. -- something the corporations won't do.

Americans won't allow themselves to be exploited like illegals do, but they WILL do the work that illegals do for fair compensation and benefits. If Americans did the work that illegals do at higher pay, would that benefit the consumer? You bet it would in the long run. But many Americans who do not care about America's future are consumers who favor the idea of exploiting illegal workers because it keeps commodity and service prices down in the short term.

We are a nation of immigrants, so if they all left there just might be a problem. Perhaps you could be more specific in your question & receive a better answer than mine.

I can only say I agree with you completely. This country would function just fine if every illegal alien went home tomorrow. Even if the President of the United States was deported life would go on. The V.P. would assume command and the country would move forward.

And I know the Constitutional requirements to be President. I am just saying that no one is indispensable.

I assume you are talking about new and illegal immigrants? I do not think the country would fall apart, and I think that the only ones who say that it would are 1) the immigrants and 2) big businesses that rely on making huge profits by paying immigrants a non-living wage. There is a danger in generalizing, however, because all immigrants are not the same. The recent immigrants from China are wealthy and well educated. The recent immigrants from Mexico are poor and uneducated. In any case, this subject is not likely to go away soon, and while people concentrate on the millions of poor immigrants from Mexico they are distracted from noticing that wealthy immigrants from China are buying up huge tracts of real estate. There is no law in this country (as there is in both China and Mexico) that restricts real estate purchases to the nation's citizens. That might be a better focus for your concerns.

I believe you're speaking specifically about ILLEGAL immigrants.

It wouldn't fall apart at all. Americans would take the jobs vacated by illegals immediately as happened at the meat packing plants recently. Profits would drop for the huge companies that hire illegals, crime would fall, the economy would recover, education would become more globally competitive, health care expenses would drop to a more reasonable cost, and Hep. A and TB and a few other nasty diseases would be brought back under control.

Yes, if we deported all 20 million this instant, it might cause an issue but realistically, if we secured the borders and sent back a few thousand a day the impact would only be good.

I suggest we speak with everyone here illegally 1:1 and give them the immigration test. If they can pass the test, speak English, have skills we need, can support themselves and their children and are not criminals (other than the crime of illegal entry), and they really want to be U.S. citizens (as opposed to trying to morph the U.S. into another Mexico) we let them stay. This would apply to anchor babies over 18 as well.

Anyone illegal who doesn't pass the tests, speak English, etc. is deported.

Well, the Native American (American Indian?... I do not know what is PC today) population base would not be large enough to support social structure and production of what we consider necessities today.

Bear in mind that you stated "all immigrants". That includes, Whites of all varieties and nationalities, Blacks (though most of that was forced immigration, i.e. slavery), Orientals, Rromani (I had to throw myself in there somewhere), and so forth. We are ALL immigrants.

And... what about the Native Americans who are of mixed blood? Are you going to label them as "immigrants" too because they have immigrant blood?

As far as why the country did not fall apart before there were all of these immigrants, the Native Americans were doing just fine all by themselves. There were none of these problems before the immigrants arrived. Also, there was no "country" before the immigrants. "America" did not exist. That was a construct OF the immigrants.

No it wouldn't, then all the British would have the offer of a good job, our Health,Education, and prisons would all be in better shape, and our tax bill's would be smaller, after all there are in excess of one million illegal immigrants here who are abusing our systems and are not paying anything towards their costs. I think this country need to get rid of all the free loaders and start with a clean sheet, and the only way to do this is to make sure we put an instant ban on all immigration, and anyone found to be here illegally, should be instantly deported.

No, it wouldn't. If there were any gaps in employment requirements, we could re-use all those civil servants presently employed by this ridiculous government. Unless, of course, they, too, are immigrants. In which case, we're quids in either way. And look what immigration has done to America. No, I do not think that the USA, nor the UK, would fall apart if the illegal immigrants left. But, I do think that there has to be a limit, to our countries generosity. If people from other countries want to immigrate then they need to have a specific reason for doing so. Which should be revealed to the government of that country. So they could determine if that person would be a good candidate for citizenship or a visa for temporary entrance for college, and such. Otherwise we would be opening our countries up to terrorists, criminals, violent gangs, Anyone who immigrates, to another country should only have an interest in making a better life for themselves and their family, and be a patriot for that country. Not cause chaos and turmoil.

It would not fall apart - but there would be a big change in terms of work/salaries etc.

Currently the constant stream of blackmarket labour - i.e. those that work for cash in hand push salaries down in a lot of sectors. So immigration is good for business - but not good if the low salaries that immigrants accept are supplemented by illegal activity and by not paying their taxes, insurance stamp and housing costs.

So business may suffer if immigrants were limited/left by way of a squeeze in their profits but after a time we would see that the country would be more economically stable and less money would be passing to individuals who are evading tax and claiming benefits to supplement businesses low salaries in the hand!

This country was brilliant before the immigrants got here, when I was a kid there was hardly any of them here, if you saw an Asian you looked in wonderment at the unusual sight, in my school we had one Chinese guy, whose farther was a doctor, all the rest of the kids where white British kids, the streets were always clean and safe, Bobby's on the beat, doors left open, you could leave money on your door step for the bread/milk man, when I think of those times, and then look around me now, I feel a great sadness, I can see the changes and I hate them.

What we need to do is weed out the illegals who WANT to become Americans and WANT to learn English, and WANT their children to live an American way of life. How are we to do this? Simple. Ask every illegal which country they'd die for. If it's Mexico, Russia, etc. Send their a**es back :D

but for a while your London underground would get nice and dirty and sticky-. You'd have shortages of bus and train drivers so your public transport would grind to a halt. The NHS would be crippled definitely cos all those nice African ladies that deliver babies and help nurse people back to health wouldnt be there anymore. You wouldnt be able to go for a curry, a thai or a chinese anymore (although you would still have your fish and chips). All your shops would have to find security guards at short notice to stop people looting. All your offices would become nice and grimy, your bins would overflow. The UK would not fall apart, but it wouldnt be a great place to live for a long time.

Why didnt it fall apart before they arrived? Because the UK did not learn to become reliant on an immigrant workforce before. HOWEVER now it has.

If all the immigrants left the USA there would be nobody left.

No, our country would not fall apart. Actually, we would probably have less unemployment because there would be more jobs for the American Citizens. American money would not be sent to other countries to sustain family members there. American money would stay in America, be spent in America, and help the American economy.

America would probably be able to give health care to all of the American Citizens because it would not be spending money and/or losing money on illegal immigrants. American children would get more money spent on them because we America would not be spending money to teach illegal immigrants to speak and read English.

America needs to support its American Citizens. We have a great country but our own suffer for all the money spent on illegal immigrants. There is a way to come to America legally. If immigrants can not do this, then they are here illegally. They have no rights here. If they want to live the American dream then come to America legally and help to make America greater.

This is a difficult question to answer, because if you go back to before immigrants started coming to America, you are going back to ca 1492. And at that time there was no one country but groupings of nations and tribes.

If you are talking about now, I would wonder. Not all immigrants are bad, lazy, criminal. Werner von Braun, an immigrant, basically created our space program and allowed us to reach the moon in 1969. And that chap Albert Einstein wasn't a bad citizen, either, nor were many of the scientists that do research for us today. Many a rural small town would be without a doctor if it weren't for the MDs that have come from places like India and Pakistan.

And the economy of places with large immigrant populations would suffer-the goal of legal immigrants is to earn money and set down roots. This means they come here, get jobs, buy houses, cars, pay taxes. They have taken some dying small towns and made them flourish again. They have created the need for more small businesses that hire more folks, both immigrant and non-immigrant.

I think you should send us back, i cant wait to see the detrimental effect it would have on your over-inflated economy. If you cant open your eyes and see for yourself what services ethnic minorities bring in for you, i think you deserve to go into recession. Your dole offices are full of white British pretending they are sick and claiming sickness benefit.

Let your precious whiteys stop smoking their Old Virginia and come off their precious sickness benefit and clean the underground and sweep the streets. These are the highly-sought after jobs which the ethnic minorities are stealing from white people.
